Most school systems have a website and most individual schools have a website.

You can get info on each school as far as ratios. testing scores, Blue Ribbon, Exemplary, etc.

We are in the Plano system and are pleased but I don't know anything about Arlington.

Hey there, No matter what school your kids go to, be aware and make your children aware of bullying and to report it. The principals don't do much but it can go to far and someone ends up hurt. I don't like the public schools for that reason. There was recently a very pretty girl who was being cyber bullied in the dallas area and she killed herself, she never told her parents, the school claims they didn't know about it but many of the kids at the school knew about it according to the news. You just can't control children in large numbers like that and be everywhere at the same time, I have friends who have kids in the Arlington schools and they say they are alright. I hear Mansfield is one of the best, my kids were in Kennendale and it is small and a dress code is enforced there which I liked. My kids have been in Private school which is what I love the most. Good luck to you and the people are very friendly in Texas as I am from Oregon and moved here a year ago, they just don't know how to drive---stay off the freeways as much as you can, my insurance doubled when I came here and I asked why so high and they said there are many accidents in the cities of Texas. I can see why after I went on the highways, they drive like 50 and up through my residential. If a child was out there, they would be killed!! I would love to get the Texans to slow down and stop driving recklessly!!! They are the sweetest people once you get them out of their car though!!!!!Ha!!!!

Hi, I attended Arlington schools and graduated from an Arlington high school. And my oldest son, who is now at Arlington High School, has always attended Arlington schools. This is just my opinion (strong opinion), but I will not let my kids attend Sam Houston HS, Bowie HS, or Seguin HS. Arlington, Martin and Lamar are better high schools. I am not sure of the Mansfield high schools. And as for junior high schools, my son went to Nichols and Bailey. Nichols was okay, but Bailey is a good school. I hear that Gunn is a good junior high. I will not let my kids attend Carter or Hutcheson junior high schools. These are just my thoughts and opinions. Hope this helps some. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Arlington has several high schools (Arlington, Lamar, Bowie, Martin, Sam Houston, Seguin) and junior highs. Is there a specific one you're looking at?

We recently moved to the area, we visited the Jr high schools and high schools before we started house hunting. We were not impressed with the attitude of students, teachers of staff at any of the schools we visited in Arlington. We chose SW Ft Worth and love the school. With some exceptions every one from the principal to the lunch ladies seem to be happy to be there. The are always exceptions but even the children are smiling in the halls between classes. We just did not get a positive feeling in Arlington. That being said not every school is right for every child and I am sure if your children are adaptable they will find friends where ever they go.

Welcome to Arlington! first, I wanted to find out if you are talking about Arlington High School on Cooper and Park Row or just Arlington high schools in general. the Arlington Independent school district (ISD) has 5 or 6 high school campuses in Arlington and the Mansfield ISD has two high schools in Arlington. So you will need to find out the school that you are assigned to attend based on location. Or decide on a school and then find a house in that school zone. Good luck!
