How Far Is It from Miesau to ROB in Vogelweh

My husband and I are stationed at Ramstein. Miseau is 25 KM from ROB, which is about 15 miles.

If you are looking for something closer, try Oterbach, Erfenbach, Rodenbach, Otterberg, Kaierslautern, Erlenbach, Morlautern, Weilerbach, Siegelbach, Lichtenbruch, Hohenecken or something like that.

My husband and I live out from all the bases and posts. We enjoy it. The traffic is not that congested from where we live, at least not until you hit Landstuhl. Even Landstuhl is closer than Mieseau.

When you go to the housing referral office, they can give you a list of available places according to drive time.

Also, it really depends on what you really want in a home.

He will have to take the Autobahn to get to work and probably more than a 25 minute drive. You can live much closer than Miesau. Go online to http://kaiserslauternamerican.com newspaper and look in their classifieds for housing, or visit the housing office at Vogelweh and get the available housing list. Good Luck

Unless you enjoy a short communte or have found a house that you absolutely love in Miesau already I would look for something more closer. I have been out to Miesau (to the post) a couple of times and it takes me about 15-20 minutes to get there from my house I live about 2-5 minutes from ROB, I live in a village called Hohenecken right outside of Vogelweh and just down the street from ROB. Take in mind I never drove from Miesau during early morning traffic time!
There are a lot of lovely villages out near mine and of course you have the option of K-town. Vogleweh housing has put up very nice new town homes and everyone I talk to say that they are nice if that is an option for you to live on base and you can be placed in one as oppose to stairwell housing.

We live in Ramstein, but lived close to Meisau when we first came here. It is about 20 mins drive to Vogelweh from Meisau, but it is pretty much highway (A6) the whole way, so if you drive fast you could get there sooner.

Hello, Miesau is not too far from Vogelweh. I would say it is a 20 minute drive. But the traffic in the morning (rush hour) is very bad.

If you are close to the Miesau Depot, you will be close to the Autobahn Exit. Once you are on the autobahn it's about 15 minutes to ROB which is right next to the K'town autobahn exit. Of course you never know when A6 will back up, it does that sometimes especially between Miesau and Landstuhl. If you have to take the back roads it'll take about half an hour to get to ROB. Of course it's the same no matter where you go. B270 has its times where it backs up so does B40. If you're concerned Siegelbach the village right next to ROB is very nice.

It is about 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. We live in Schoenenberg (just past Miseau) and my husband drives to Kapaun in Vogelweh every day. It isn't a bad drive, there is some construction on the autobahn now but hopefully it will be gone soon and the drive will be normal again! Good luck!
