How Do You Stop Diarrhea

My daughter has a stomach virus, again, and she though the fever and vomiting have ceased, the diarrhea still persists! She is having about 5-7 bm's a day, all very wet. I am wondering if anyone has advice on how to alleviate this! She is totally fine other than that: normal mood and normal appetite. I am assuming this is normal...Any advice would be helpful!

What can I do next?

When my son had the flu his doctor suggested more fiber ( try mini wheats, toast, pasta, breads, rice) also yogurt, veggies and lean meats. He also said to cut back on dairy, more specific milk. to help make his stool more solid. i hope this helps.

I am not sure that I would try to stop the diarrhea as this is the body's natural way of actually purging the virus and its impurities.
Lots of water, pedialyte and I would try Odwalla Superfood. This is one of my best friends as a mom.

Hi, I have found that the BRAT diet works fairly well. It is bananas, rice, apples, and tea. My daughter likes licorice tea but I am sure any herbal tea will do. Good Luck!

Hello,

Not long ago my daughter had a stomach virus too. My mother in law told me about the "BRAT" diet.

B-bananas
R-rice
A-apples (applesauce)
T-Tea

We did everything except the tea. I let her drink water and pedialyte. It really seemed to help.

Hello X.. just keep giving her lots of fluids stay away from milk during this time.we gave our childred lots of water and pedilyte. their bodies need to be hydrated.their bodies need to flush the virus out.but if it continues more than a few days take and have her checked. just be safe. good luck.
