Ex wife pays us child support. She has been paying $160 a month for the last 3 years. At the time it was assessed she was working part time. She now works full time and lives at home with her mom. I don't know if we can go back to teh attorney generals office and apply for an increase or if we have to hire an attorney. Any help would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Speaking from experience from going through the AG's office and hiring an Att, I can tell you that the AG's office will take forever to move on it and you won't get near as much. The AG's office works for both the custodial and non custodial parent.
If you hire a lawyer he/she will only be working for you.
My ex was making about 120k per year and the AG increased my child support from $250.00 a month to 500.00 per month. Due to the fact that he was behind about $12,000 in back child support, I hired an Att. She told me that he was supposed to be paying me $1200.00 per month, plus back pay. I am not greedy, so I asked the ATT to only increase it to $800.00 per month. I started receiving the increase the next month. Yes, she cost me about 800.00, but it was well worth it. It paid for it self in about 2.5 months.

I'd start with the AG's office. My hubs receives support from his ex, and when he asked to have her reassessed, they sent us a TON of paperwork to fill out and said they'd take it from there.

I receive $750 per month from my ex and have since our divorce - my son was 4 and is now almost 14. I think he should be paying more, but we FINALLY have a good relationship and don't want to "rock the boat"...but he has plenty of $ and we are scraping by. Is there a way he wouldn't know it was "me" asking for the increase? If we received $1200 per month, that would help us out quite a bit. Thanks for the post..hopefully we can both get some good advise.

C.,
I am in the process of doing this right now. I went the route of the AG's office because I could not afford a lawyer. Before you can do it either way it will have to be 3 years or more since your final decree. They will have to prove that they are making more money too. I guess because it is free I am able to wait. It probably would have been over by now had I went the lawyer route. If you have any questions send me a pm.
