How Do I Get My 18 Month Old Daughter to Keep Her Diaper On?

Ever since my daughter learned to take her clothes off she will take off everything.
She has taken her diaper off and then pees or even poops on the floor.
I try to take her to the bathroom because it seems like she does not want a dirty diaper, but at nap and bedtime how do I keep the diaper on. I have tried all diferent kind of clothes and she always gets it off. I come in after a nap or in the morning with a naked sometimes wet baby. During the day if I walk away for a few minutes she is naked and sometimes I find a mess on the floor.
Is this normal?? How do I deal with this??

What can I do next?

Get some one piece zip up pajamas without feet and put them on backwards when she sleeps. She won't be able to get them off.

I have used the old fashioned safety diaper pins. They work well too, if a tab on the diaper pulls off.

My daughter went through this phase. She took off her sleeper and diaper - what a mess! I did not like putting the pj's on backwards because the way it fit around her neck or using duct tape. I found this sleeper on the web, it's called the Little Keeper Sleeper. It worked miracles and I never had to clean another dirty crib! I'm so glad I found this sleeper. It works Great!!! Check them out on the web at www.littlekeepersleeper.com.

Hi J.,
I had this same issue with my daughter at 18 months. She is almost two now and doesn't do this anymore.
I put her in overalls for daytime and sleep. She quickly noticed they were not easy to get off and gave up on trying to take them off. I did this for a few days and then I put her back into her regular clothes and explained that she would go back into overalls if she did not keep her clothes and diaper on. It worked! She is potty trained now, so luckily I don't have this problem anymore.
Hope this helps, and know that it is just a phase and most kids go through this.

My son went through the exact same stage, DUCK TAPE. We used duck tape and taped the diaper all aound, so he could not peel it off. It looked wierd, but worked. We did this for about two weeks, then he forgot abot taking off his diaper since he was no longer able to do it. Good luck. Times like this, all you can really do is laugh. Remeber in a couple of years you will look back on this an laugh!!!
