How Do I Clean a Stuffed Animal?

Is there any type of cleaner that I could use to get a stuffed animal clean? It is not "dirty" just old and dusty. I am doing my nursery in Pooh Bear, and have an old, large, stuffed pooh that I would like to include in the room. Just need to freshen it up if anyone has a good way to do so! Thanks in advance!

i regularly place stuffed items in the washer. other than that you could use a spray bottle and a mixture of mild soap (a few squirts) and warm water. do sections at a time. spray it and then lightly scrub with a wash cloth. then repaeat with a spray bottle of just warm water. then spray with a disinfectant. i like the bleach and water mixture because it is mild and produces no odor. it will not bleach out fabric if you mix it properly. it says on the bleach bottle how to mix it for such uses. Hope this helps!

Hi M.,

I would do 2 things:

1) spray it down with Lysol disinfecting spray

and 2) then spray it down with Febreeze.

Otherwise if it is small enough I would just throw it in the washer and then the dryer.

depending on how large it is you could take it to the laundry mat and wash it in the industrial sized washing machine. Or if it is too big for that then take it to a dry cleaner and see if they could do it.

I would suggest that you wash it or use fabreeze.
