Brindle Boxer? Brindle Great Dane? Brindle what? What area could he be in? I'm not going to search Indy southside for a dog that got out in Carmel!

Good luck finding your pup, C..
I had an escape artist for a dog. She was too smart for her own good. She would regularly disappear and then turn up just about supper time. She also used to go play with her old friends at a house we had lived in before. She would leave my house after I left for work, walk 2 miles to the old house and stay all day and play, then she was home sleeping on my bed when I got home from work. I guess the reason why I tell you this is some dogs are very smart and can get home on their own. I would do what the previous mamas suggest: get out flyers, call local shelters, vets, pet stores, etc.

If you live in a subdivision or neighborhood, make a flyer and post them. Ask grocery stores, drugstores, etc. if you can post flyers there, also. Wouldn't hurt to mention it to your mailman, if you have one. They see ALL KINDS of things! They are a great resource for more than just mail! Might give him/her a flyer, too.

I am in Texas but this is what I did when I lost my Sheltie..... First I contacted the president of the home owners association I lived in.. told him what happened. He then sent out a mass email to all the people in our development, I then put over 500 posters out in the areas surrounding me including my own neighborhood... I called ALL the surrounding shelters... Put an add in Craigslist in the missing section and in the pets section with a photo.. You can also go to all of your vet offices and petstores and put up missing flyers... After all that I had him back home in 2 weeks to the day... it was a lot of work but well worth it... I know it is so rough... I felt like I lost a child. Hang in there.... he/she will come back home!!! PRAYERS work!!! Also call daily to the shelters..... I even went to look everyday...

I am sorry that your dog is lost. call all of the local vet offices and the animal control offices in your area. Let them know that your dog is missing. Do you have a picture of your dog? Make an informational flyer and Find out the fax numbers of all the veterinary offices and fax them a copy. Put up flyers around town and in your neighborhood. Good luck-I hope you get your dog back.

You should check Animal Control to see if he's been taken in. I don't think the HSI takes strays so he would go to Animal Control. You could also post a listing on petfinder and indypaws - they both have lost pets pages.

C., what does your dog look like? Where did you lose it......I'm in Indy.....call all the vets in the area......get on your computer and put a pic on a flyer and leave it all around the neighborhood and grocery stores,.......call the dog pound, call the humane society. I know a brindle little girl was found near Emerson and Washington.......she was tied up at a gas station and had been there for hours......so I hope this helps.....walk the area and call for him.....take a treat, or anything he likes to identify you to him. I hope you find him......I'd be devastated too. I've had it happen.

Call all of your local shelters to let them know so that, if a dog fitting that description shows up, they can call you or hold it for you. Then, put up fliers and drive around calling for the dog. Notify your vet, and if your dog is microchipped, notify that company as well. I wish you the best of luck.

Also, check on petfinder.com. Sometimes people post ads for dogs they find in your area. Just put in your zip code.

Good luck...I hope you find your precious baby:)

Hi C.! The best thing you can do is contact your local authorities. Your request on here is read by people all over the country and the odds of anyone from here seeing your dog are almost impossible.
I hope you find him soon.
