With my daughter I always measured exactly the amount of centimeters that I was weeks and she weighed 7 lbs 14oz when she was born. With this pregnancy I have been about 2 centimeters ahead (30 wks pregnant, 32 cm uterus) which is on the high end of the normal range. Can anyone share their experience? Do you even remember or I am just neurotic? ;)
I've been measuring big, and I had an ultrasound this week (36 weeks) and the doctor said I have plenty of amniotic fluid that is probaby why I've measured 1-2 centimeters big. My doctors also call anything within 2 centimeters of the expected measurements "normal." I doubt it's anything to worry about:)
With more baby's your unterous is more stretched out, especially if they are close together.
I think that your measurement can change with A LOT of factors....size of placenta, amount of amniotic fluid, how many children you've had.....etc....
But for what it's worth....I measured right on every week for both pregnancies and my babies were 7 lbs 3oz and 7 lbs 9oz.
I measured big with all 3 of my children. With each pregnancy I measure larger and larger. My kids where 9.2, 10.7, and 9. My last I measure the largest and he happened to be my smallest.
Does the DR think he is a larger baby? You could have an ultra sound done but that has no guarantees since it can be off either direction.

I measured about 3 cm bigger and my son was average weight at birth. My doctor said when you get 4 cm bigger, they do an extra ultrasound, but it's not too concerning. A friend of mine just measured 12 cm bigger (but she is a larger lady) and they did an ultrasound and the baby is still normal size. I would guess everything is normal. Good luck!
Hi E., I also measured 2 cm larger then how many weeks I was--with my second child. He was almost 9lbs when he was born. The wirdest thing was that the placents was 3X larger than "normal" and there was also a ton of fluid--more than "normal" also. There is nothing wrong with either of these things happening--it was just a little more uncomfortable pushing--because with every push there was a ton of fluid coming out and the placenta was also a bit painful when it came out because it was so big. I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about. Congrats and good luck with (hopefully) and good labor!
I measured big from 27 to 32 weeks. Then the baby turned head down and I went back to measuring the same as the week for the rest of the pregnancy.
Remember that your muscles are stretched out this time around, so you'll carry differently.

I had the exact same experience (+2 cm) with both my sons and the measurements was right...They were both big babies (first was 10 lbs 21.5 inches). All despite the fact that my husband and I are shorter and slighter people.
