My daughter is a very mature 9 yr old. I have read so many different things about what age to have the talk. Do I tell her about body changes and sex (where babies come from) We are a very open family and she already knows about getting her period, breasts, and hair. I am not sure what to do. I hope someone can give me the right answers. Thank you ahead of time.

What can I do next?

I would also encourage you to have "The Talk." When my daughter finally learned the real story, she had been woefully misinformed by her friends. Better she hear it correctly from you.

Get a good book and talk, talk, talk. If she's in Girl Scouts, they will probably have a program on this. Don't wait - she's hearing a lot of junk from the other kids. You'd be surprised what they talk about! Good luck!

I say have "the talk". My son was 10 when we did it and we talked about absolutely everything. We are very close and open and he can still come to me about things and he will be 17 in 3 weeks. If you don't talk to your daughter about this stuff, she will hear it on the streets (school) and it's not always the right info that she will hear. If you want specifics on what I talked about, don't hesitate to send a personal message.
