Horrible Nausea & Breast Tenderness - Not Pregnant

I have had horrible bouts of nausea for the past 3 weeks. I have had my cycle and taken a pregnancy test which came out negative. My breasts also feel swollen and hurt as if I was pregnant. I have an appt with my dr in two weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what could cause it.

Addendum:
My daughter is 14 months old. I haven't breastfed for 8 months. I'm not on birth control pills for medical reasons. We are not trying to conceive.

TYIA!

Hmmm, sounds kind of strange to me. I know I got a period and a negative pregnancy test with my second one. Had sore breasts and nausea. But when we did the US she was 4 weeks earlier then we thought(so my test and cycle weren't accurate). No lumps or bumps in your breast? Swollen lymph nodes, especially in your armpit? Abdominal pain? Was your cycle any different than usual? Sorry, at this point I would be freaking out and not waiting 2 weeks to see my doc. But then again I can't stand it when anything is "off" with me. Luckily, my PCP is used to me and fits me into her schedule. Of course as a nurse I think worst case scenario. My middle one had mono this year and I was convinced she had lymphoma. :o)

Have you recently weaned? It sounds like it could be mastitis.

The nausea and breast tenderness could be totally unrelated and you could also be pregnant and get a negative test as well as have a period or 7 as one of my friends did, while pregnant. When my youngest was around a year I had a period of nausea that I would have sworn I was pregnant but I thought the possibility totally remote as I had had a tubal with the last child. I do have allergies and I suspect that the nausea was caused by drainage and in addition to the tubal, I have also had a hysterectomy and still continue to experience breast soreness at times. Bodies go through changes that seem to be accompanied by weird symptoms like about 7 years ago when I lost about 30 pounds without really trying, for a long while I could barely eat without feeling ill. My daughter has been experiencing something similar lately; half the time she feels like throwing up when she eats I think because she is trying to change her diet to a more well-rounded and better one.

Just sit tight until you have that doctor's appointment and in the meantime, if it is drainage or something, just like pregnancy, trying to wait until a little later in the day to get up and around usually helps and just don't worry about it. Sometimes our blessings are a surprise so whether you are pregnant or not, you will either get that news or see if there is something else going on.

I am not a doctor or anything but my breast hurt for a week or two before my cycle (every month)and you may have a stomach bug or if it is in your ovary area, you may have a cyst (my daughter had this and it is terrible pain even in her stomach which while on the pill it passed it). If the pain gets too bad, you may want to go to the ER. I would also take another PG test if you have only taken one especially if you recently got off the pill (you can be very fertile I have heard). Just some of my thoughts and experience with the first comment. I hope you feel better real soon!

In Christ,
M.

Jodi, this is weird. I had the same darn thing!!!! Freaked me out. I finally decided it was my birth control pills. (I had stopped taking them.) I think my body thought it was pregnant. After several weeks of being off I'm finally normalizing.

In your case though, you say you aren't taking birth control pills. Even though you had a negative pregnancy test and a cycle you still could be pregnant.
