Has anyone used "My Father's World" and "SonLight"? And for foreign language: "Rosetta Stone" vs. "The Learnables"?

I am looking for your opinion after having used them. I realize that each family/child is different, but I am having some trouble deciding what to use and want to hear your opinion/experience. Thanks for any help you can offer!

BTW: My kids are K, 3rd, and 5th.

What can I do next?

Hi A.! I don't use an all inclusive curriculum.

For language skills I use Sing Spell Read and Write. I started with this in K and will probably use it until 3rd (my son is in 2nd grade now.)

Math- I love Math-U-See. I won't use anything else, it's THAT good.

History/ Geography- We use Galloping the Globe

Science- Apologia

Foreign language- Hands down, I would choose Rosetta Stone.

Good luck!

ONe of my homeschooling friends uses MFW and really loves it. Her kids are in 7th and 9th.

I use a hodge podge of different curricula.

Also there are a couple forums I have gone to that have helped me with curriculum ideas.

homeschoolspot.com

For my 4th grader I use
Singapore Math
Shurley Grammar
The Latin Road to English Grammar
Bob Jones Science 4
Handwriting Without Tears--Cursive
Story of the World with supplements of
History Pockets by Evan More
The Story of US DVD form the History Channel, US HIstory along with historical fiction books from American History

Not on your list, but for Math education, I highly recommend Saxon.

The kids I've taught who have been through the Saxon program are far more prepared than the homeschool curriculums.

check out veritas press. it is used in California and my sister's friend says it is becoming very popular out there. it is causing a scare out in CA because of it's conservative views. It is a Christian curriculum. I was checking it out for my daughter. I am not sure how it works from state to state.
