I have a 4ry old son who was born with Hirschsprung's. He went threw the major surgery process at birth but I've been dealing with this mean rash that will not give. it seems like we've tried every cream possible to get rid of the rash but nothing seems to work. I've taken my son to see many doctors about his rash but all they keep giving me is cream after cream to try. So finally i suggested that his primary doc test for some type of yeast infection which came out positive but yet again he was given more cream to take which has yet to work. If their is anyone out there that can please help me i would so deeply appreciate it.FORGOT TO ADD(My son also had his colon removed due to his Hurschsprung's and we found out that he was born with one kidney)

What can I do next?

Have you considered an herbal anti-fungal? I am a certified herbal consultant and would be happy to suggest some alternatives that are completely free of the chemicals and synthetics used in most topical applications - and which could be causing and exacerbating the issue. Feel free to contact me if you are interested.

I have never heard of your sons disease but probiotics will work on the yeast. I would recomend garden of life probiotics for kids. It tastes like bananas. My 3 1/2 year old loves it he just takes it in powder form so it is very easy to give. They sell it 40% off at healthfoodemporium.com or you can buy it at sprouts.
I would also sugest reading the book "the makers diet" it talks all about the good bacteria in your gut and how it controls so many things in your body.He cured himself of all kinds of diseases. It has really helped my son who has asma and sin issues. I will pray for you and your son I know how hard it is to have a child with health problems.

When my daughter had a yeast infection as a baby, the cream took care of the rash, yet the infection was still there in her body and showed up with high fevers every other week or so for several months. I finally figured out it was the yeast and gave her acidolphilus milk as she was old enough for cow's milk by then. It cured it right up! Acidolphilus is definitely the cure for yeast infections...for kids and adults! I have sworn by it ever since. You can get A. Milk at the regular grocery store..or you can get the liquid form of acidolphilus at a health food store. Either way works. I take it in caplets whenever I start to feel sick as it is a natural anitbiotic. It always helps me get better faster. Good stuff! Good luck!

Sunshine in small doses, or a sun lamp if you can find one. It works better than any medication. It is an old fashioned remedy that I learned from one of my son's nurses when we lived in California. Just make sure your child doesn't get sun burned.

When my daughter is teething she gets a really bad rash w/ blister type infection and yeast.....

Our remedy is ;;; Boudreaux's Butt Paste ( apply to the diaper not the skin at this time )

Nystatin ( pharmacy script is needed ) this is for Yeast
Bactroban ointment ( script also needed ) this is for Infection.

If there is inflammation the doctor can also prescribe an anti inflammatory cream (sorry I can not remember the name but there are two strengths the Green tube is not as strong as the Red tube. )

Good luck....

I am sure you have tried this already but it is the only advice I have. May kids get really bad diaper reashes that turn into blisters with yeast. I mix 3 things to gether - an antibacterial, an over the counter yeast cream (like monistate) and and diaper ointment because it has zink. I wasn't going to respond because I havn't heard or the disease that your son has, but when you mentioned the yeast, we have had lots of trouble with that. Good luck to you and your son.

When my son gets a bad rash, I found that tee tree oil helps. I let him sit in the bath with several drops of the oil. Then follow up with a healthy dose of cream overnight. By morning, the rash is better. Hope this helps. I know how hard dealing with a stubborn rash is. I went through several expensive Rx creams that did not work either. Good luck.

If it's yeast you may want to try having him eat yogurt with active bacteria/cultures. If he won't eat yogurt you can get the acidophilus supplement at Walmart, Target, etc. It does help, it may not get rid of it right away but it should help.

Ask your PC ped for a referral to a demrotologist. Ask them to do a patch test. He may be allergic to something that you use. I was highly allergic to all the ingredients of lotion... and all the doctors kept giving me creams to use... but had some of the ingredients of lotion... so, nothing worked. Try that. I use Dr. Glick...in Mesa. Out of the 6 years of uncontrolled issues, he was the only one that found out what was wrong with me.

I had a rash that would not go away and I tried something very simple but worked. Try using 1 tsp of corn starch with water. Make a watery paste and apply with a cotton ball or something other than your hand. It will turn the face a bit white leave on all night. In the morning wash off with a make up pad and water do not use a wash cloth (irritates the skin) and you should see a difference in the skin. This is not an immediate fix but will take about 7 days to see a difference. Let me know how it works. Good luck.
