Gap is great for maternity essentials, but for special things I've always looked at babystyle.com and purchased some of their items. They are expensive, but their clearance gets marked down pretty steeply and you can usually find some great Cadeau and Babystyle brand items that are different and trendy.

If i were you i would just spend some money on a few pairs of jeans, and try to find normal tops in whatever style you like. Lots of tops are made of stretchy material and can still work as maternity shirts. I was 8 months along before i had to get real maternity shirts. until then i just wore what i wanted.
