My daughter is 14 monhts old. I used a snugli pack when she was tiny- she loved the snugli and was very content to be carried around in the pack. She is now too tall for the pack - but she is still under the weight limit for it.. I

i saw a "hip hammock" a kid carrying device that goes on your hip and frees up your hands to do things.. I was wondering if anyone has had one - and if it was a usefull peice of baby equipment... I think it cost 30 at target..

What can I do next?

Hello Lisa,

My husband's cousin used one when we were in Florida and she loved it. Her son was about the same age and it worked out great. She did continue to use it. She had no problems and there were a lot of times in Florida that she used it for a good amount of time.

I love it I used it for my son for a while. But he grew out of it too quick.

Hip Hammock they would outgrow fast, How about one of the baby wearing slings such as a mei tai? (not the drink! lol) I have seen several people with them at zoos with 2+ year olds and they love them even at that age. They can be worn with baby in front or back. I'm going to use one with my new baby after they are born.

If you are handy with sewing or know someone who is they even have patterns for sewing available online. Here are some examples at the actaul site which has tons of color/pattern selections http://www.meitaibaby.com/gallery.html#

Here is a link to all different kinds of carriers and how to make them....

I used 1 - NoJo baby Carrier (though many other brands and similar styles on market now). Loved it! Even used it through toddler years. If while dining out she fell asleep, using the carrier helped to take her 2 year old weight off my back. Highly recommend the carrier. I have seen some that look like a giant tube top you just pull over your head that others tell me work well, too.
