There should be a list of doctors or clinics who accept Medicaid. I know you prefer a certain place but you may need to go where you can. I'm not from your area so I have no idea where you can go besides calling for a list. You are very early so you have plenty of time. Just start eating healthy, take prenatal vitamins, drink a lot of water and take healthy walks when you can. Get plenty of rest. Most importantly, don't panic! Congrats on the new baby!

If you haven't been to the medicaid office to change your status to pregnancy medicaid, do that and ask for a list of providers. You may need to go to a planned parenthood to get a proof of pregnancy before you go to the medicaid office. Then go from there. Congrats!

Are you sure you are a high risk? Go to or call the local Planned Parenthood and get a referral to a physician who accepts medicaid. Worry less about the hospital and more about finding a doctor you like. You are in the early stages of pregnancy and can take good care of yourself as another poster suggested. If you have a history of high risk, then you may want to see someone sooner, but mostly it's good nutrition, rest and reasonable exercise at this early stage. Medicaid should also be able to give you a referral as can your primary care physician if you have one. If you don't have someone, you are entitled to a doctor and Medicaid can do this too.

Call the hospital first.
I had a high risk pregnancy in Houston. I called the hospital that accepted medicaid and asked which ob-gyns they worked with that would accept high risk patients. That shortcut my search tremendously.

with a quick google search - Jorge F Lopez says high risk obgyn accepts medicaid in Dallas. I have no personal knowledge of him.

Can you call Medicaid and get a list of hospitals from them. You may not be able to deliver at the hospital you prefer. I know I ran into that problem when I had an HMO. Best of luck with your new baby!
