I am searching for the best High Risk doctor out in the area. I am in Prosper. I found one at craig ranch OB and just did not know if that is where I am suppose to be. I have had two previous high risk pregnancies and we just had a surprise sprung on us and I am trying to react quicker and be on my toes and ahead of the game. I had a great OB in St. Louis and feel lost with this one. Any advice is helpful and even a nanny would be great!! I am hopeful over here..

What can I do next?

I had a very high risk pregnancy and was hospitalized for the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy. My doctor is Garret Garner at Presby Plano. He is awesome!! younger, has a wife who's a pediatrician, has 3 young kids himself. He was able to find a good balance at keeping me safe but also trying to get me far enough along that the baby would be okay. Presby plano also has a level3 NICU. They do everything there with the exception of heart surgery and if the babies need that they are transported to Children's Medical Center of Dallas (which is where I work as an RN). Alot of RNs use Dr. Garner which also says alot. RNs are very high maintenace patients and he handled me just fine:-} he's also very compassionate and empathetic. I personally would advise against Craig-Ranch OB. My girlfriend had a very bad experience with this practice. Even though she was having some complications they continued to have her see a midwife. This practice also only has priviledges at Presby Allen and Medical center Mckinney. Both are nice facitlites for L&D however are not equipped to handle high risk pregnancy/delivery or sick babies. BTW.. congrats on your soon to be new addition! M.

I use Craig Ranch OB-GYN and love them. I have 2 girls (3 & 15 months)born by the hands of Craig Ranch. I used Janean Carter (midwife) throughout my pregnancies, but had emergency c-sections with 2 of their doctors. They are friendly, knowledgable, and took great care of me and my girls! There office is updated, and your bloodwork and ultrasounds are done on in office.

Dr. Bruce Rajala at Presbyterian Hospital of Allen is a great High Risk doctor. His office staff is very good too. I have had 3 very high risk pregnancies with him and he is very cautious and doesn't take chances with things. I have a friend who also went to him for a high risk pregnancy and she loved him and his staff too. His office number is ###-###-####. Congratulations and good luck!!

First of all - CONGRATS!!! The absolute best high risk OB is Dr. Chet Edward Wells at Plano Presby. He is incredible...I had a horrible 1st pregnancy and left my dr. that practiced at Medical City (a hospital which I would absolutely NOT recommend). Dr. Wells immediately put me at ease and the hospital where I delivered was awesome! Good luck and his number is ###-###-####, his address is 6124 W. Parker Road, Ste 134.

Dr. Eric Jacoby is a high risk OBGYN and he is wonderful! His attention to detail is amazing and his staff is very caring too. His office is right by Presby Plano and he also has rights at Baylor Frisco too. I can't say enough great things about him. It would be worth consulting with him at least. He can be reached at ###-###-####.

I strongly suggest you go to an OB that uses a top class facility such as Medical City Dallas. I'd worry that the OB at Craig Ranch would use Centennial Frisco and I wouldn't want to delivery there if you are high risk. Its a bit of a drive but worth it to Medical City Dallas.. I live in Frisco and went down there for both my pregnancies. I use Dr. Amy Sigman at Medical City. ###-###-####. She is in a big practice that is rated top almost every year by D Magazine and they have been featured in several national rated reviews too. Mine weren't high risk but she and her practice would be teh ones I go too and have them walk me thru the entire process, etc. They are some of the best OBGYNs in the DFW area. Good luck!

Hi, S.!

I had an extremely high risk pregnancy and my OB is Kelli Watkins at Presby Plano. She is incredible. If it wasn't for her I would not have my son. Her new office houses a perinatologist as well. She used to be at Medical City Dallas but (thankfully!) has moved to Presby-Plano. I delivered at Medical City but I ABSOLUTELY don't recommend their NICU at all. I have had friends who delivered at the lesser rated Presby Plano and Medical City-Plano whose children received MUCH better care then mine did.

My insurance changed mid-pregnancy and I called around and spoke with many OBs. Most were willing to call back and at least do a phone-interview...I highly recommend that.

Most importantly, find someone you trust and feel comfortable with.

Good luck!
