Hershey Park or Sesame Place?

Hello! My two boys (4 and 7) and I are going to be in Philadelphia for a few days this summer. We definitely want to go to one of the two amusement parks on the Sunday of our visit. If we go to Sesame Place, we would go with a friend who can get us half price tickets. We will be going with 1-3 additional adults. Should we spend the extra mony and go to Hershey, knowing that the adults and the 7 year old will probably have more fun? Should we save the money and go to Sesame Place? I'm really torn at the moment, and could make a good argument for either side. I would love to get some objective opinions! For our other two days we are planning on the Please Touch museum and the historical sights.
Thanks for your thoughts!!

I've been to both parks and would definitely recommend Hershey Park over Sesame Place. I think you should consider going to Dutch Wonderland though which is only a little over an hour from center city (closer to you than Hershey Park and will be fun for the whole family). Dorney Park is another great alternative you may want to consider. Also, all the parks will be significantly less crowded Monday - Wednesday. (I was at Hershey Park on a field trip about 3 weeks ago and some of the rides had over an hour wait although they were the big roller coasters...still it was a week day and school wasn't out yet). Have fun!!!

I've never been to either place but I would lean toward Hershey where more people can enjoy it.

Think about it...a day at Sesame Place geared to the younger child and cheap or Hershey where more people enjoy and I bet your younger one would enjoy as well.

Have a safe trip!!!

Hi! The only difference between Sesame Place and a regular water park is no drunken teen/early 20 somethings. There is definitely big people stuff at Sesame Place and even the little kid stuff is fun. And what kid doesn't love Sesame Place? My 22 yr old just walked in and I asked him, he said Sesame Place. We have been to both many times but we all fall in the Sesame Place category. My kids(19 and 22) will borrow my nieces for an excuse to go and drive the seven hours to get there. Tell the adults too bad so sad the day is for the kids... Have fun!

Sesame is super cute but your 7 year old might be bored.

It's tough to have both a 3 year old and a 7 year old happy at amusement parks since the 3 year old will have many limitations.

If you're willing to divide and conquer for a good part of the day, then Hershey would be better. If not, go to Sesame. You're 7 year old will be ok with it. But it's really geared to the 5 (maybe 6) and under crowd.

Personally I vote for Hershey Park. Kids 5 and under love Sesame Place (which is way overpriced) but kids of all ages love Hershey Park!

Depends in part on how tall your 4 year old is. When we went to Hershey last summer, my kid was still three and not yet 44" tall. His ride selection was very limited. Sesame might have more available for both.

Best,
