am I missing something!

since I wrote the response above I have received a few responses. now I know what this is all about.

I got this procedure done at 45 (1 1/2 years ago) because I was having female troubles (a very heavy flow for months almost consistantly) we decided (the doctor and I) that as long as we were fixing that why not get the oblation done. I went into the short procedure place at about 1:30 pm prepped for the surgery and was home by 4pm and by 6;30 I would have never known I had the surgery done. THOUGH I did have problems staying awake for 2 days BUT the doctor assured me that my body was taking advantage of the fact I had anesthesia(SPelling) in my system and was just catching up on the sleep I was not getting because I was up several times a night cleaning myself up prior to this procedure. I have yet to think I did the wrong thing I really wish I did it sooner. I am still years from menopause and glad about that except I hated having my period every month.

just be sure that you do not want any more kids ever. 33 is still young enough to add to your family.

I had the procedure done 2 years ago. I was 37 at the time, so I was told I might still have light periods going forward, which would be fine with me, because I was spotting or bleeding over 2 weeks of the month.

The procedure was almost painless (be sure to take the pills and medicine as instructed before the procedure.) I now have a light spotting for 3-5 days a month (which is nice for me, so I know I am not yet in menopause.) I know 3 others who have done the procedure and have had significant improvement in whatever their issues were.

I also know one woman who had complication and ended up with a D&C a week later. So, there are risks, but so many of the procedures are very successful. Be sure to find out how many procedures your doctor has done, and what the success rate was, so you understand your risks.

It was the best thing I EVER did!

Check with your OB/Gyn to see if you are a candidate. I was hoping I was but was not able to have the ablation or the embolization because of the location of my fibroids.
