WEll I finshed Acutain and now my face isnt broken out at all. However I do uneven skin and some red marks that I need to fade inorder to feel confident enough to not wear makeup (thats been a dream forever)! I only wear a little concealer and powder (just enought to cover/even things but Id love to ditch those too. I know with summer comming up and Im fair skined (but I do tan) that I will peel and some of it will fade. I also use a retiniol cream my doc gave me but it dosent really seem to be doing much. I was wondering if anyone has tried anything that honestly works and that works fast? I have used the Mary Kay micordermabrasion when I sold it and all it did was break me out. Also Orgins and Arbonne do the same b/c Im really sensitive to plant extracts and the more natural products for some reason. Well if you know of anthing from creams to peels that actually please pass the knowldege my way. Thanks ladies! C.

I know you said you used the microdermabrasion from MK, have you tried the "Even Complexion Essence". That is what is was designed to do was even out skin tones. Good Luck! B.

Well I sell Avon. And I'm sure you've seen the commercials of our Anew line. Its just like every other product out there. So if you're interested I could let you know a little more about it cause it has a big variety to choose from. I really don't have the problem that you have but I've tried it all so I can get better knowledge of it for my customers. It also has stages depending on your age. 25+, 35+, and 45+. I would like to help you out. ____@____.com

MD Formulations is the best skin product line by far. I use their facial cleanser, toner, night cream and morning cream.
I also have an on the spot blemish cream from them that is incredible. It bleaches the red out while healing the blemish.
I wouldn't use any microdermabrasion that is not from a professional facialist. It's a little bit of a waste actually. Herbal skin peels produce a much better result.

Hi C.! I work for Dermatology Southwest in Burleson and we treat patients with similar problems every day! Accutane is an amazing drug-- but when it's all over, most patients are still looking for ways to "perfect" their skin. Some suggestions: microdermabrasion treatments are a good option, but can be pretty expensive-around $100.00 per session at our office-, or IPL laser treatments (also expensive). The Obagi nu derm system is another option that a lot of our patients love. The Obagi web site gives lots of info--www.obagi.com. I've used the Obagi CRX line to treat pigmentation problems, like the dark spots on my face after I had my first baby, and it was AWSOME! I noticed results after two weeks. Just thought I'd let ya know that there really are products that work out there!!

Hi C.! You should try dr brandt laser lightning serum for the uneven skin tone and post acne discoloration. You need to use it 2 x day and be diligent in using SPF 30 - always use SPF separately, do not rely on it from your moisturizer or makeup. You will notice brighter skin after just 15 days; however, you will notice a major improvement in your discoloration after 1 - 2 bottles. It's not inexpensive but it's well worth it. Please do not use anything with hydroquinone - it may cause liver damage and they're doing studies to see if it causes cancer. Oh, dr brandt is having an event at Nordstrom Stonebriar on 3/24, Nordstrom Galleria on 3/31 and Nordstrom Northpark on 3/10. They will have a gift with purchase that day also. On a side note, one of his moisturizers won "moisturizer of the year for 2006" by Allure Best of Beauty. It's a fabulous skincare line! Good luck! Call me at ###-###-#### if you have any other skincare questions. J.

Yeah, I used to work for a plastic surgeon, the OBAGI line is great. I would call a plastic surgeons office who has an aesthetician and ask what other Skin Lighteners work well.

I know you have gotten tons of responses already but I have to tell you that with the micordermabrasion you have to be careful because if you arent used to much exfoliating...it will make you break out. I usually tell my clients to start off slowly and work up to using it often.

I know Brenda( I think it was Brenda)said to try the Even Complexion Essence and I TOTALLY agree because its not harsh and I have personally seen huge imporvements in my skin. I only use a tinted moisturizer these days because, lets face it, who has time to put on a full face when you have little ones. :) I LOVE it. Talk to your consultant about trying it. I think it would really help you achieve the results you are looking for and it wont cost you a fortune($35). ALSO we have 100% satisfaction guarantee. If it doesnt work...you get your money back(even if you are almost done using it).

I have been on Accutane twice, once as a young teen and once in my early twenties, for severe acne. I had the same "leftovers" of red spots from old acne and uneven skin tone. Do not waste your time or money on products people say are great (and try to sell you), their skin is much different than yours or mine. Retin-A (probably your retinol cream) will work over time, that's why a dermatologist gives it to you, not some saleslady. I do agree that microdermabrasion works well and is quick. I had it done (about 6 sessions, I think) and saw MUCH improvement, but it's expensive. I believe it's worth it though, when you've spent a big part of your life with awful skin, it's nice to finally feel cofident without makeup! Best wishes!

Hi C. you mentioned that you used a Mary Kay product but, I would like to recommend a different one it is the Timewise Even Complexion Essence. It restores your skin to its natural color! My preacher's wife used this product to get rid of spots on her face that she had been covering with powder and makeup for years!
I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant so, if you would like to give it a try just let me know.

Hi C.. I know several women who have experienced the same results that you are. I know you mentioned something about Arbonne, but have you had a chance to try the NutriMinC RE9 anti-aging skincare system? All the women who I know who've used harsh acne treatments to clear up their skin swear by this line to even out their skin tone and complexion. If you'd like to give it a try, I'd be more than happy to drop off some samples for you to try out. Just let me know. You can reach me at: www.mandyolsen.myarbonne.com. Good luck finding something that works for you!
Sincerely,

Boscia's (boscia.net) Restorative Amino-3P Firming Treatment actually worked to get rid of my acne scarring... even though that's not what I bought it for. Nice surprise. It's a bit pricey, but I use 2 pumps every morning and night under my moisturizer, and so far it's lasted more than a month.

Good luck!

Microdermabrasion would be a route you could try. You must be off your accutane 6 wks. Microdermabrasion is NOT like the mary kay product! THeir product is a good scrub but hardly what i consider microderabrasion. The crystals in the machine with the combination of the pressure and vacuum are what make the microderm machine so wonderful! Whatever is mixed with the crystals in the mary kay microderm was what was breaking you out, not the crystals themselves. The cleanser and other products used in my microders are dermalogica, wonderful and reasonable product that carrys a perscription for every skin type! I would try it, within two treatments your face will feel so much smoother! and there are many other benifets from the treatments as well....check out my website! Hope to hear from you , L. www.beautymarkboutique.com

You need to wait a couple of mths, but microdermabrasion is the way to go. Helps with the uneven pigmentation and skin. The machines are COMPLETELY different than the mary kay or other microdermabrasion products, it was prob the cream it was in that broke you out and there is no cream used with teh machines. Not sure how they get away claiming its a microdermabrasion product! www.beautymarkboutique.com really good microderm prices! they also have jane iredale mineral makeup and it will help keep you skin clear and acts as an anitinflamitory to take the red out!
