Help... Ways to Assure a Girl!

Okay so I have two little boys already and they are my world. I had to have c-sections with both of them though and have been thinking about having another baby. I have already been told by my OB that 3 C-Sections should be my limit. I would be so happy with a healthy baby, any gender, but would love to help give my husband a little girl. Not that a little boy would be any less loved. Anyone ever been in my position and tried diffrent things to get the gender you wanted? Did it work? YES, I understand God gets the final say, and a healthy baby is the most important to me. But it will be fun trying right!

I didn't read any of the responses but girl spermies live longer so try approx. 3 days prior to ovulation and then stop trying as you get closer to ovulating.

There are two books out there. One on what to do if you want a boy and vice versa. I have talked to two people in the past that said that it worked for them. Just ask at a book store for help.

Did you know you can safely have vaginal deliveries after a c-section? Also I wanted a girl after 7 years and the more alkaline your body is the better chance for a girl. Some others may tell you some more ways to try, but you are right-God chooses just to show us He is in charge sometimes and it is fun for the surprise. Good Luck

It is the father's genes that choose the gender. I don't think anything would made a difference like positions and stuff like that.

Well I know that with reptiles, its all about the body temp of the guy. So, maybe that's true with ALL guys? You could turn the air conditioning down and make the room a bit chilly?

I heard somewhere that the earlier you have sex before you ovulate will give you greater chances of having a girl, since the stronger male sperms will die off sooner and the females will survive to reach the egg... Of course, it all depends on pH and whichever little swimmers are better, and God of course :) I don't know, but it could be fun trying!

I'm not sure if there is a way of assuring a girl or boy. I don't really know what we did different to get both... it just happened for us. I have 5 & 15 yr old girls and 2 & 4 yr old boys... we're expecting our tie braker in July. We just hoped for healthy little ones, but something odd that happened with us is we always picked a name before the ultra sound & it always ended up being the sex that fit the first name we picked. LOL - with 3 of them we wished for a certain sex & hair color and we got it... our 1st we wanted a girl with blond hair & she was born, 2nd we wanted a red headed girl & she was born & our 4th we wanted a black haired boy (to look like daddy) & he was born... lol. This time we have a girls name picked and not a boys yet... we'll have to wait to see if we get a girl or need to pick a boys name when I go for my ultra sound.

Good luck with having a healthy little one & I do hope you get your girl.

Ok. This might sound a little crazy, but when I tested it against my family members, all but about 2 were correct! Below is a link to a Chinese gender birth chart. It takes the age of the mother at time of conception and the month the baby was conceived. It then predicts what the gender of the baby will be. I don't usually "go" for this sort of thing, but like I said, I tested against my family and extended family and most of them were accurate...

Funny you should ask this question because I've been looking into this myself! I have one wonderful son, but had a very difficult pregnancy and traumatic birth, so if I have a second child, that will be it, and we really want a girl. I've read about the Shettles method, and here are some websites you might want to look at as well:
http://in-gender.com/
http://pickgenderofmybaby.com/
http://how-to-conceive-a-baby-girl.blogspot.com/

I don't know if any of these things work, but as others have said, it can't hurt to try!

I also really want to encourage you to look into having a VBAC despite two C-sections. You can start gathering info. at the International Cesarean Awareness Network (http://www.ican-online.org), join their local Yahoo group, and start learning about your chance to have a VBAC and why it's a safer option for you than a 3rd surgery. Also, Dr. Fred Cummings in Denton, TX is the best doctor in the area to help you have a VBAC. I know women who've had VBACS with him after 3 and 4 C-sections! A couple of other encouraging resources are the documentary The Business of Being Born and the book The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer. Good luck! :)

I don't know , but I've heard that positions won't have any affect...I think I heard it on Dr Oz, cant remember though. I know how you feel, I think all women might be that way at times about baby gender. I am having a little girl but was secretly hoping I could give my partner a little boy. I just thought he would be proud to have his own little boy following him around, blah blah blah. However I know this baby girl is a blessing from God and that I still have time to try for another one down the road. Good luck though and I hope you have a healthy pregnancy either way !

Read "How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby"....my SIL and myself used the information from the book and it worked. It is all about timing....I believe there is a somewhat science about it but of course ultimately it IS God's decision:)) Good luck!
