Help! Upper Lip Hair!

For some reason, recently, my Sally Hansen Sensitive Skin Facial Depilatory has stopped working. I haven't had it that long so I don't think it's too old. Anyone have a depilatory that's really good for stubborn upper lip hair??

Thanks!!

Okay, now I have a follow up question: If I decide to wax, how long will is usually take before I have to wax again?

What can I do next?

Get laser hair removal. Not as expensive as people think. I haven't shaved my armpits in over 3 years! Love it!

I've been shaving mine off for MANY MANY YEARS! Gasp!! ;D I do NOT have stubble, it does NOT grow in thicker or darker, and I never have to worry about those gross creams or the pain & red irritating bumps you get from waxing. You should try it! ;)

Thread it.
Only slightly painful, as effective as waxing. And it takes hardly 5 minutes to do it. I do mine myself. I do it about once in 2 weeks, with occasional plucking of the one stray dark hair.
You can check out any saloon run by Indian/Asian women, they are most likely to offer threading services for upper-lip, eyebrows and even the chin area. Most Indian saloons take about $5-7 for upper lip. If you can smartly watch how they do it, you should be able to learn to do it yourself very easily! :)
Good luck to you!

I think that Loving Life is lucky! Other women I've seen who shave their lip aren't so lucky, and it does grown in stubbly!

You can use Jolene Bleach (it's in the drugstore) to lighten your mustache. Or, you have have it waxed where they do eyebrow waxes.

It's also possible to have laser hair removal done on it, but that's expensive and only works if you have light skin and dark hair.

I'd try the Jolene Bleach (if you are Caucasian) or just go have someone wax it.

5 mins to wax.. then about a half hour for the redness to go away ( so plan on doing it when your not going to run out the door!)

That's how I get rid of it :)

just throwing this out there because it was mentioned - Dr. Oz actually says that shaving does NOT make the hair grow back thicker. it just seems that way because of the stubble. but any hair removal will result in some kind of stubble when it grows back in, right? except laser of course. i'm not much help, i use the sally henson one as well...hope it doesn't poop out on me!

I have this problem, and have tried all the stuff going. The best home treatment is Sally Hansen pre waxed strips. Soooo much easier than the wax in a pot. You just press them on, and pull them off. It hurts, yes, I won't lie. But not as much as the melted wax or threading.

I use the "nair" one for facial hair.
But I also have one of those little teeny shavers for quick fixes.
If you wax you have to let the hair grow out so it can be waxed, I'm not into letting mine get there.

I think the stubble from shaving must vary by case... my mom started shaving hers fairly young, and she has a full on man-mustache if she doesn't keep up on it... So I will never shave, because chances are I will face the same problem.

If you are lucky enough not to get stubble, great!

So far, I haven't had to do anything with mine other than plucking the occasional dark hair... but I have been noticing the hair getting a bit darker in general, so I'm going to be keeping an eye on your answers. ;)

How much hair are we talking about? Some have very sparse or one or two stragglers... Under ten strands? I'd pluck 'em. More than that? I don't know...

No, do not shave. You can wax it or get lazer hair removal. Hair removal is not as expensive as you think. I got my upper lip done for 200 dollars total. I used to wax but it was giving me irritation and ingrown hairs the last year.

my sister is using laser treatment, it seems to work. Waxing may be a better option, you might try NADS, it gets thick, but you can put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. There's always electrolysis too.
