HELP! My Kitchen Is Being Invaded by Ants!!!

We seem to get small ants in our kitchen every year in the spring. Usually I just get those little plastic baits and before you know it the ants are gone. That is not the case this year. We have even gotten the extra special heavy duty ant baits and they are not helping either. Does anyone have any ideas aside from having an exterminator? I don't understand why they won't go away this year. Thanks.

My coworker sprays windex on them when she sees them in her apartment and she says it kills them immediately. My husband prefers "sugar traps" - the ants will swarm to it and all will die. We also buy a large jug of bug spray every spring & fall and spray it all over the outside of the house and inside (around doors and windows).

My husband buys ant spray every year and sprays it around the outside of our windows and doors. It takes care of the problem right away. Also, cinnamon sprinkled around the area they are coming in will keep them away. You have to put out fresh every couple of days, but it really seems to work...that's what my babysitter uses. We had already sprayed when she told me about it, so I haven't needed to us it myself.

If you know where they are coming in, Target has a new gel tube that you squirt around that area. I used it on my kitchen - they were coming in through the door (isn't that polite of them?) and now they aren't. It wasn't expensive, and so far it's been effective. Good luck!

do a google search for natural ant repellants. i have heard that chalk or cornbread lines work too.
