We are moving this weekend and I would like to give away some clothes and furnitures. I called the Salvation Army but they can only come pick up the items next Friday which will not work. Does anyone know of any other organizations, churches or groups besides the Salvation Army that I can contact. Any help would be appreciated since time is running out!!! Thanks!!!!
Thank you so much for the quick responses. All great ideas that I will certainly use again. I actually got a hold of someone at St Vincent and they are coming out this Tuesday so everything worked out.
You can look up the group for your area and join. Then post the stuff you have on their online board and people who want it will email back and arrange with you to come pick it up! You can let them know in your original post that it all needs to be picked up by a certain date too.

Or even a shelter or church within your neighborhood.
The Sharing Connection in Lisle is FANTASTIC ... and they pick up!
I know that St. Vincent de Paul - ###-###-#### picks up clothes and furniture.

You can try freecycle or craigslist online, or call your local fire department. Often they know of people whose houses have burned down and are really in need of items like this and can give you a referral.
If all else fails, you could put them in the yard with a big "free" sign if it's not going to rain!
