My son was the same way - always loved the bottle. Everyone always said to take it away from him and he would start eating better. I never did - and he has always been off the chart for height and weight. And very healthy. Try not to worry too much!

Hello there! First of all do not get overwhelmed by these issues unless he is loosing mayor weight or is constantly getting sick. I have 2 children and my youngest did this from 10 months to about 15 months. Would not eat ANYTHING and only wanted her bottle. So I did not fight it. I knew she would come around one day. And she sure did. That little girl eats us out of house and home. One thing I did was continue to introduce things to her. I would sit her on the high chair and put the high chair in front of the tv and would put her favorite channel on. I would give her snacks and all the things I knew she would eat. I did this probably all day long, 3 - 4 times a day. At dinner, she would sit with us at the table (in her highchair) and I would continue to offer her food. If she ate great, if not than no big deal. If your baby is on formula than he obviosuly is still getting lots of vitamins. I would add a little cereal in the bottle (baby cereals)rice, oatmeal and mixed. My daughter loves that. I still do it in the regular milk now. She is 21 months. Anyways I hope this helps, and remember do NOT feel overwhelmed, eating may not be appealing to him right now but he will come around just keep introducing foods to him and one day he will NOT stop eating. Enjoy this time with him!!!

If he is losing a lot of weight or acting lethargic then I would be very concerned. If not I would work on gradually increasing his food intake, and lowering milk intake but I wouldn't be too concerned. I started both mine on foods around 4 months, but I didn't give them a lot of foods. I tried to feed them foods 3 times a day, but it was very small amounts each time. I've heard of some parents not even starting rice cereal until 6 months and very little foods until around a year. Mine have never really ate the amounts recommended but are fine and healthy. He will need to eat more foods but it doesn't have to be big amounts right now. Just gradual increase should get him eating more adequately, and there are supplements available like ensure, and pediasure, which have lots of vitamins and nutrients but in a drink form which most kids like. I used ensure plus for a little while just because it was less expensive then pediasure and made specifically for weight gain. Like I said If he's losing weight or lethargic then you should be concerned, but if not he's probably fine, just may take more to transition to solid foods. Loss of weight would be from not enough food and nutrients, and lethargy means he's not getting what he needs to keep his energy up each day so he's dragging, listless, and has little or no energy.

relax. if she is drinking formula still she is probably getting her nutrients.
have you had the one year check up? ask some advice from your pediatrician if you should keep giving formula.
be patient and keep trying different foods.
remember if you are anxious during mealtime she will be too and she will never want to eat.

If you are worried about these eating habits, you should definitely schedule an appt. with the pediatrician. Just to be save and put your mind at ease.

Call your pediatrician to address your concerns.
How long is he awake during the day? If he wakes at noon and eats at 2 and 730, that is a normal time span for major meals but I would expect some snacks in betweeen.
Try lots of different foods: yogurt, fruit cups, cereal, oatmeal, grits, lunchmeat, cheese, and fruits & veggies. There are also drinks that have lots of calories like pediasure.
Don't feel like you HAVE to get him off the bottle but perhaps try to transition to a cup during the day and save the bottle for bedtime or naptime even.

I say, stop the milk, He is getting full from it and therefor sees no interest in food. Let him have a bottle in the morning and one at night, but no more. Offer him food and don't budge. Eventually, he'll get hungry and start showing interest in food. That's what I did! And my daughter eats everything and anything now.

Oh, and don;t worry if he doesnt eat the first 2-3 days, he'll be testing YOUR resolution to the new rule. Don't waver, he has enough reserve and will be getting enough nutrition in the course of the week to be just fine...

Hi, It seems like your baby is drinking too much milk during the day which makes him/her too full to eat other stuff. I have a daughter around the same age and she was like that...doesn't want to eat much. Her pediatrician recommends to only give 3 bottles/sippy cup milk per day and try to introduce other foods in between. Good luck

Is he sleeping more than 12-14 hours at night? Is he going to sleep at like 8:00pm and sleepign til noon? Is he losing weight? IS he active during the day or just laying around? I have to tell you that this alarms me. My 3 year old is very picky eater. Not eating much but she does eat. If you are seeing any of the above sign please take him to the doctor right away or the ER.

Have you talked to the babies doctor about this? Have you tried the number 1 baby food in the jars? Most babies will take the fruits and veg. in the num. 1 jars. See what your doctor says, he should be eating something by now.

I pray for the Lord to give you wisdom and peace and a great second pregnancy!!

Cut back on the milk. Its filling him up too much. My daughter is 10 months and eats 3 meals a day, plus a snack. She drinks around 18 ozs a day. Also, how active is he. Is he walking? It doesn't sound like he is getting enough if he is using the energy to start walking. I would discuss a plan with your pediatrician.
