I am soo sick of eating crappy most of the time. I am not a big fast food person but I still find ways to eat pretty lousy! LOL. Anyway, I want to start with some healthy snacks. I like to snack at night and I dont see that going away anytime soon. I found a delicious recipe for strawberry shortcake muffins and they are great! No flour, so gluten free and the main ingredients are oats and plain greek yogurt. At about 95 calories each they are a great snack and I feel satisfied afterward. I will post a link to the recipe in my SWH, but wanted to see if anyone else had some great healthy snack recipes to share!

What can I do next?

Not really conventional when it comes to snacking.

Here are some of the things I go for after dinner or even in lieu of dinner-
1. a green apple, with balsamic vinegar, blue cheese and sunflower seeds.
2. pretzles and pinapple salsa and cheddar.
3. a greek yogurt with canteloupe and honey.
4. a wedge or watermelon and some mozzarella.
5. bruschetta.
6. "wine water" wine with ice and water.
7. "juice water" juice with ice and water.
8. spanicopitera (spinach and feta in a fillo square).
9. baby carrots nuked with a bit of cinamon and sugar.
10. a scrambled egg with veg.

a snack can constitute anything, which is alright under your overal dietary guidelines (in your case, GF I guess). so long as it is done in moderation, and with portion in mind.

I eat mine out of an 8oz bowl. Hard to pack too many calories into that.

Good luck to you and yours,
F. B.

I use great supplementation for cellular nutrition, so that cuts the cravings and meets my nutritional needs even if I screw up. Popcorn can be a healthy and filling snack if you don't load up on butter and oil and salt. I also discovered Greek yogurt which I don't really love, but the vanilla yogurt with a half tablespoon of plain cocoa powder (10 calories in a tablespoon) is awesome and makes me feel like I'm eating ice cream. It's also quick when I don't want to take the time to fix things like the muffins you mention. If you'll keep veggies cut up and washed, and a container of hummus, that's pretty good too. Sometimes you aren't hungry, you just need to crunch something, you know? Even celery sticks filled with a teaspoon of peanut butter can give you some healthy fats and protein along with the crunch.

I don't have any recipes, I just like having a piece of fruit if I need to eat something. I try not to eat anything pass dinner though.

Get a cake mix (any flavor) and just mix in a can of pumpkin. Scoop into muffin tins and bake 350F 20-25 minutes.
