I am a chiropractor and I want to do different health topic seminars for my patients to answer questions they might have an various health subjects.
I was wondering if there are any health subjects/topics you mom's are interested in/confused about. This will help me design my seminars/lectures to better fit what they might be interested in (rather than me guessing).

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you very much! I love all of the topics that you guys suggested. There are so many things that I take for granted and don't realize that people don't know about them. Chiropractic for children/babies, all the ailments chiropractic can help with, and information on nutrition/vitamins.
I will use your suggestions and get some great seminars going. Thanks!!

There are quite a few women (probably not on this forum) who would be interested in how chiropractic could benefit fertility. With so many women delaying childbearing, there should be quite a bit of interest - especially since many people don't want to go through invasive and too expensive!

I really don't understand what a chiropractor can help me with at all. I've always associated them with back pain I guess. I wouldn't mind just a general overview of the things you do. I got a spinal headache after having a spinal for my c-section and I still have neck pain and stiffness since then. Is that something you can help with?

Before my son, I was a chiropractor assistant in Flower Mound. The practice I worked for, had seminars. Our most successful seminars: healthy eating, healthy weight loss, fibromyalgia, and how chiropractic care can help the immune system and overall health. We also had fruit, cheese, veggies, and drinks. At each of the seminars we would have a little sheet asking what patients would like to learn more about. We generally based our next seminars on that. Good luck!!

How about asthma? Our chiropractor has been educating us on the advantages of helping our son get chiropractic care, in an effort to reduce any symptoms he may have. Our son has been taking medications for this for a number of years, and our chiropractor is more of a "naturalist" when it comes to medicine, so he was offering up his knowledge, which we love to hear.

Children’s health and the benefits of chiropractic care for them (vaccinated or not).

Weight loss is another hot topic. I think most people want to lose weight and be healthy doing it without starving themselves.

Help people understand how chiropractic care works. I find a lot of people are skeptical about it because they don't really understand how keeping the spine aligned and free of subluxations can prevent other issues and/or keep you healthy.

I have been getting adjustments since 1987 and my daughter has been getting them since birth (2006). My daughter has never needed to take antibiotics and can fight off colds in a few days (me too). I truly believe that our regular adjustments help keep our immunes strong.

I think a big one people are concerned about that comes up pretty frequently is fibromyalgia.

My doc did about a half hour of massage and ultra sound, the one that has the tab that is attached somewhere. Then he would start stretching me out. Once I was limber and my muscles had relaxed he hardly had to do more than gently pull my head and everything went in to place all the way down.

So I would say relaxation and stretches to allow the muscles to relax and help strengthen the areas that are hurt.

I agree that I would be interested in learning about how seeing a chiropractor can help with my general health, and of course my children. I would like info on its use as preventative medicine and the statistics of the health of people who solely use a chiropractor vs general medicine!

If you use nutritional supplements, may be you can do the benfits/need of supplementing in today's food supply. So many health issues can be prevented with good balanced nutritional supplements. I am a living example! 20 years of migraine and 6 years of severe lower back pain and now pain free due to great supplements. Before, my doctor just suggested pain killers for my back.

Where in Frisco is your practice?

I've heard that a chiropractor can help you with sinus/allergies and headaches. If it were me as a patient I would be interested in how it could help headaches (my daughter gets really bad ones) and/or cure or relieve sinus pressure/allergies.

I think it would be great if the benefits of chiropractic care in patients with ocular migraines or migraines in general.

We are trying to figure out if my 9 year old son has Ocular Migraines. Our insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care right now - but once it does - I want to start having the family adjusted again.

Also the benefits of adjustments on blood pressure would be great!

I think you should do seminars on:
Essential oils
muscle testing (do you do that?)
nutritional support
various vitamins/minerals that are good to take
immune system support
importance of massage
Why it is important for children to be adjusted

Oh, I'm sure I can come up with more, but these are the things that popped right into my mind.
