Does anyone have a referral for health insurance. It is for my husband and I, he is a Veteran and does get help from them but I am currently paying $460 a month for myself and would love to find coverage for less money per month.

What can I do next?

Unfortunately unless your looking for a high deductable there are no cheap plans. I actually looked for myself yesterday because my precription co-pays thru blue cross HMO went up to 35.00 each and I was apalled that me a healthy person would have to pay 90.00 a month for heartburn, allergy and birth control on top of the 60.00 a week they take out of my check for the insurance (me and my daughter). My office visits are still 10 and being HMO they cover 100% after I pay my 10.00. I looked and for basically the same plan but PPO 100% coverage after co-pay, 10 dollar precription and office visits, and no deductables was $1000.00 per month. Are you kidding me. Other affordable ones had a 2500.00 deductible just for prescriptions and then they only paid 50-80%, thats nuts. And I found out that you have to go thru an underwritting process and pay your first premium and they might come back and say we'll cover you but we're not covering the pre existing heartburn condition for a year type thing. So I am actually gonna stick with works plan because for the money it is the best. To help ease the cost of precriptions I've already placed a call to my doctor for a generic alternative ($20) and I will be soon ordering the prescriptions thru mail order as I can get a 90 day supply.

Hi, K.!

My husband recently changed jobs and we were going to be required to pay the entire insurance premium to cover our two boys and myself. I ended up going to ehealthinsurance.com and after some research decided on a high deductable Humana plan.

Good luck!

I am self employed and have made the rounds over and over looking for affordable insurance. It doesn't exist! I most recently used Debra Hicks & Associates.

Debra Hicks & Associates
____@____.com

Debra was able to find me a better deal than anyone else. Even then, I am going to have to drop it because I can't afford the premium and it has never once covered anything!
Best of luck.

See if you qualify for All Kids. They offer plans for kids and for the parents living with the kids too. I love it...
