Many people will start by coming to me to change their bedding. Dust mites in bedding and carpets especially, cause allergies. Consider a natural latex mattress with organic cotton and wool and Kapok pillows. Super healthy and hypoallergenic. Email me for more info :) or visit my site for more great green products. You can read my customer testimonials and see for yourself!

Hey J., I don't know what all your kids are allergic to or exactly what green products you are currently using, but I do know that you are on the right track. Most products in our homes from cleaning to personal are full of toxic chemicals and even ones that you may think are safe or don't even realize are harmful really are. The lotions that you use on your children can have toxic ingredients depending on the brand, your household cleaners (got an email just the other day about swiffer wet jet, a person's dog died from poisoning and after exhausting all possibilities turned to the cleaning products in their home, found some fine print, called the company and found out that it has antifreeze as one of the ingrediants, which causes liver failure in animals, which as you can guess is also harmful to our little ones, especially toddlers crawling around on the floor). Anyways I shop from an online wholesale store that has absolutely wonderful green products, over 350+ and have absolutely loved every one of them. I also work from home, since I am a stay at home mom of 2 so I would love to share some information with you about the products of which I think would be very valuable to you and if you want about the business, though if you don't, then don't worry because there is no pressure, I am also not trying to sell you anything either I will just tell you about the store. If your interested you can go to my website and contact me through that it is www.WorkHome4Family.com I am a part of the M.O.M. team. In the comments sections you can tell me if you are interested in the products or both the products and business. I would love to talk with you, Have a great day and please feel free to contact me.

Are you talking about products for the children's allergies and asthma, or what cleaning products to use at home to not bother their allergies/asthma? The more natural the better. As for cleaning house, try recipes for cleaning with grain vinegar, baking soda, essential oils, natural detergents like Seventh Generation, and hydrogen peroxide. As for laundry detergent, avoid petrochemicals and scents, use arm n hammer's hypoallergenic detergent or something from the healthfood store. As for the kids, I'd seek help from a professional, like an herbalist, acupuncturist, or homeopathic doctor. Diet choices make a difference with asthma and allergies. Common allergen foods like dairy and wheat can trigger symptoms. My husband has asthma and says it flares up when he consumes high fructose corn syrup. Soaps from a regular store contain petrochemicals and fragrances that may bother your kids. I use shampoo and conditioners from a brand called Aubrey Organic. It's more pure than Shaklee. Dr. Bronner soaps are pretty pure as well. Oh, and my doctor suggested we give our daughter probiotics every day. I buy Jarrow's jarrodophilus powder so i can measure out the right amount for her and the right amount for me. You just mix it into a drink. It tastes mild. It helps keep your intestinal flora (friendly bacteria) balanced. This helps a lot with allergies, according to my doctor and many other sources.

In my opinion, you should try using Shaklee products....they are green and help kids with allergies and asthma. There is a mom-owned business on mamasource...look for Lori Welch...she is a wonderful Shaklee distributor!!

I was born with Asthma, allergies and hayfever and grew out of the asthma at age 12. When I gave birth to my daughter my asthma kicked in again very seriously and within 2 mos. of my daughter's birth found that she had sever asthma and allergies. My husband almost lost both of us.

My best advice to you is to take your children to the doctor. After a complete examination of them and review of the forms you fill out he will prescribe the proper medication for them (and their age) and will probably make some changes in their diets, i.e. milk, cheeses, milk products may be taken out of their diets and they may be given subliments to take for the vitamins, protiens, etc. contained in those products.

But do have them properly examined by a doctor so they can be put on the proper medications and proper diets for asthmatics.

I hope this helps you.

Green is great, but another marketing scam? What is in the products?
Check out homeopathic or herbals at the local Health Food Store. The employees are very well versed in RX; but do check with your doctor, see how he/she stands on non-pharmaceuticals. Check for wool, feathers, a/c filter, rugs, bedding....So many things to consider

As for the allergies, give them a spoonful of local honey each day and it will build their immunity to the allergens in the air. You can usually find it at a farmers market or fruit stand. It needs to be local honey because it has all of the pollens and allergens for your area.
This was told to me by a forestry officer and it works!
Don't know about the asthma.

J., in a word "Shaklee". As moms, we can't control the environment outside our home, but we can inside. I have been using Shaklee's line of green cleaners, Get Clean, since I joined Shaklee. I loved them so much, I became a Shaklee Distributor so I could help other moms AND make enough to stay home with my girls.

But you don't have to be a distributor to enjoy the products and save money. For example, just two drops in a 16 oz. spray bottle of our very concentrated cleaner makes a window formula. Because it's so concentrated, a window formula only costs about two cents per gallon! General household cleaner is about 22 cents per gallon. Does it work? Absolutely! It has hundreds of uses from full strength to just the two drops. It's the perfect recession buster! AND you won't have to walk down that cleaning aisle in the grocery or super store!

With allergies & asthma the major places to make a change is the laundry & general household cleaners. Even the green products at the grocery may still not be totally free of harmful chemicals. All of Shaklee's products are thoroughly tested from raw materials to finished products and do not contain harmful ingredients. In fact, I have a list of ingredients for the cleaners I can e-mail to you, if you like.

As moms, we do so much research when it comes to products for our families. Shaklee has an awesome line of nutritional supplements, skin care, natural color cosmetics, weight & sports management, air & water purification. I invite you to see our web site at www.NaturalSolutionsLLC.net. There you can read about all the products and pricing, about the company and our environmental stewardship.

If you have any questions, or would like the ingredients list, please e-mail me. Take care. E. G.

Hi J.,

My son suffered from asthma and used a nebulizer (sp?) 3 times a day every day from age 2-31/2. I created a safe home by getting rid of the toxins in my home. Within a very short period of time he was able to decrease, and eventually not use the nebulizer at all. He doesn't really have any serious allergies, although he has suffered from sinus issues since he was really small. This is also so much better.

I work from home and train others about having a safer, healthier home for their families. I do not sell, stock or deliver anything so no fear that I'm trying to sell you lock, stock and barrel. If you'd like to learn more about creating that safer environment for your family, please contact me directly through my website - www.LiveTotalWellnessToday.com. I will be happy to give you all the free information you'd like on creating that safer home for your family.

Taking care of the outside is great, but what youa re talking about starts from the inside. I do sell products and a service. I do make an income from helping families get healthier. If that is okay with you, then contact me.

I am a family health coach and I have had HUGE successes helping families learn how to clean out their bodies and then refuel them with the right foods and supplements. Some of my families have released a lot of weight, some have released allergies and aches, many began being nicer to each other, and most of them can handle the pressures of daily life better and so much more...just by focusing on the SOURCE of the challenges, not the triggers on the outside. A clean home is nice, but a clean body internally is essential.

My clients range in age from 6 months to 86.

You can see what I do and how I do it at www.SolutionsForMyFamily.com. If you want to work from the source, your inside, you can contact me.

PS Did I mention that you can do this for about $5 a day?
