Many causes of headaches. Start by drinking lots of water. Dehydration is a big cause of headaches. It is an easy thing to start with to rule out other potential problems. If you're drinking lots of water and still getting headaches, then it's time to look elsewhere for the cause.

Could be tension, could be hormones, stress, lots of causes... have you tried craniosacral therapy? I'm not just trying to advertise what I do. There's other people out there that do it... I just believe in it for many issues. .. headache being one of them.
(I have a mama-perk here) I'm in Tucson, but I see that you are in Las Vegas. Start asking around for practitioners there.

I've had migraines since Junior High. They've put me through all kinds of tests & I've seen all kinds of specialty doctors. Can't find anything wrong with me so I have kind of had to figure out my triggers. Start keeping a journal. When you get a headache write down what your day has been like preceeding the headache. Food you ate, stresses you had, weather etc etc. I have all kinds of triggers.I carry my stress in my shoulder/neck which get very tight. That results in a headache. I sometimes clench my teeth @ night which causes pain in my jaw & a headache. The wrong pillow can give me a headache. My neck is very sensative so I can't have a pillow that is going to mess with it too much. Various foods trigger a headache. The weather changes can do it. My allergies/sinuses can do it. Keeping the sinuses irrigated helps. Getting massages regularly help or going to a chiropractor regularly. I have been on tons of different medications for it. The only thing that works for me so far is Imitrex. It is medicine that changes the way your blood flows through your brain. I take a pill when I can feel it coming on but if I miss my window then I give myself a shot.

If you could give a description of your headache, is it one sided, behind your eye, at the nape of your neck, etc...? How often do you get the headache? What is the headache intensity on a scale 1-10 with 1 being mild and 10 being the worse headache ever? When do you get your headache, is there a pattern? What kind of medication did the doctor give you? What helps?

There are many types and causes of headaches and treatment depends on the type of headache that you are having. I suggest that if your doctor has not been able to help you get relief from the headache that you see a neurologist so that you can get appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Be prepared to answer the above questions.

Some types of headaches and a brief description:
Migraine usually one sided, often behind the eye, you may see clouds, or dots this is called an aura a migraine may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting and it is usually very painfull

Tension usually tight neck and shoulder muscles accompany this headache and it occurs at the base of the neck and radiates up the head all over.

Rebound headache usually headache all over the head and is caused from taking too many over the counter pain relievers such as tylenol and advil.

Caffeine Withdrawl bad headache usually all over the head and relieved when you drink something with caffeine in it.

there are many other causes of headache but the above are most common.
Good Luck

You might consider using the Patch. Besides the weight loss and energy benefits, many users have experienced fewer headaches. The all natual ingredients might be better than all the different medications you are being given. Check it out and then talk with a naturopath.

I used to get awful headaches all the time. It turns out I was getting them from MSG, msg-like ingredients, sulfides (like in dried fruit or wine), and nitrates (in a lot of meat, lunchmeat). You can google "msg myth" to get a list of all the msg-like ingredients (about 15 different ingredients). Once I cut those out of my diet I no longer got headaches! good luck.

Several things can cause head ache; tight neck and back muscles, tight hair tie, low OR high blood sugar, not enough water, electrolites out of balance. You should try to find the cause, then you will find the solution. Cut out sugars, eat more protiens and drink more water. If that doesn't help, get a back and head massage. Good luck!

It can be stress. It can be allergies. There are all sorts of triggers. Sometimes headaches can be related to vitamin deficiency. Magnesium in particular may help. There are other supplements that might help as well. If I were you I would start on a good multivitamin and take extra magnesium to start, but not too much. Magnesium can upset your stomach.

I get headaches when I haven't eaten right that day. Usually when I skip a meal or wait too long between meals is when I get headaches. Make sure you are eating right and not skipping meals. When I was in high school I used to get headaches all the time. I would be in the nurses office just about every day with a headache. My parents thought that maybe it was my eyesight so they took me in to get checked. Dr. said my vision was perfect 20/20. He said to make sure I was eating right. He was right. I noticed then and now that when I wait too long between meals I get headaches. My friends 14 year old daughter was complaining of headaches and were going to take her into the eye doctor to get her eyes checked. I suggested they watch what she eats and make sure she is eating and not skipping meals. They had noticed that she wasn't eating much at school for lunch. They told her to start eating lunch and her headaches have lessened. Not sure this is your issue, just a suggestion that I didn't see on here. Hope you figure it out soon!

It is VERY important to stay well-hydrated. Drink lots of fluids, especially if you consume alcoholic beverages. Do you get migraines? Tension headaches? Sometimes caffeine can be a trigger, but sometimes it can help a headache. Try to keep track of your headaches, when you get them and how often. Do you get them at the same time every month? Could be hormonal. Once you figure out when you seem to get them, you might find a way to help get rid of them.

You could start with drinking plenty of water, getting adequate nutrition, cutting sugar and artificial sweeteners, and otherwise looking for triggers in your diet. A good massage can help also.

I used to get headaches daily. I removed as much MSG from my diet as possible. No more headaches. You have to read labels from crackers, to frozen burritos.

Alot of good responses I would agree with but wanted to add: Have your eyes checked. Often having sudden, frequent headaches is a sign of eye sight troubles, do you wear glasses/contacts? Might be time for a new prescription. Also, have you taken yourself "off" of or drastically reduced your caffeine intake, that can cause them as well.

I recommend seeing a different doctor. My Grandfather, father & aunt all died from brain aneurisms...the 1st signs reoccurring migraines. My dad had been in the hospital 5 hrs before he died. They even ran a cat scan but because they did not use the dye they never noticed his weakened vessel. There was nothing my mom could do either since it is not normal procedure to use the dye when giving a cat scan. My siblings and I were told to request the dye any time we have a cat scan. My cousin (aunt’s daughter) had been diagnosed with migraines, but after learning what killed her grandfather, mother (she was very young when her mom died) and uncle she had them use the dye only to find out she already had a weakened vessel. Luckily she was able to have it fixed before it killed her.

You may want to try seeing a chiropractor you might have something jammed in your neck that is actually causing your headaches. I have also used accupunture to help with my headaches and migraine headaches and it works like a charm!

For awhile in my 20's, I got a headache late every afternoon. I eventually found out I was hypoglycemic – having a blood sugar crash an hour or so after coffee-break sugary snack. The headaches stopped when I switched the snack to nuts or cheese.

But in the meantime, I learned to pull and knead sensitive spots on my ears. The headaches would stop within 10 minutes or so. I have since used this technique on other people's headaches with similar success. (Never worked on migraines, however.)

You have lots of great suggestions. I would recommend Dr. Mark Force (naturalpath chiropractor). He can do some very simple test to see if you're deficient in things. I would also suggest a gluten-free diet for a couple of months and see if that helps. They are doing some fantastic research with lots of things like ADHD and autism as well as other autoimmune diseases and finding gluten free diets are helping tremendously. Good luck.

I used to get headaches all the time. Went to doctor after doctor, until one said, go get your eyes check, if you don't need glasses, then we will run more test. Guess what, I needed glasses. Once I started wearing them, my headaches went away. So, my sugguestion would be, to get your eyes checked
