I'm pregnant!! Horray! My husband and I have been worried after having a miscarriage five months ago. WIth the miscarriage my hcg levels never went above 50. With this pregnancy my levels were at 380 at 4 weeks. I just had had my blood drawn again today at 5 weeks 1 day my levels are at 8,900! The nurse said the doctor wanted to schedule me for an ultrasound next week. Should I be thinking twins?? :) LOL! What were your levels at 5 weeks? (if you remember!)

Congrats! I'm afraid I don't remember my levels but it sounds like you have a very healthy pregnancy. At the ultrasound you will get to see the heartbeat. That's always such a great reassurance. Best wishes!

I did a quick search, and it looks like your levels are elevated. I would definitely be nervous and excited and for sure thinking that I might be having twins! You may be having an early ultrasound for many reasons, two of which I can think of off the top of my head....They want to make sure that this is not a molar pregnancy, which could explain the high hCG levels, and the other reason is that they are suspecting twins, also a reason for elevated hCG levels :D I hope it's the latter! Please keep us updated. We love to hear these kind of stories! Good luck and happy pregnancy!

At 5 weeks, the normal max on hcg is about 7,000. So, not sure about the twin thing. Never dealt with it, but I just wanted to say congrats!!! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!

I'm pretty sure mine was in the 5000 range for all 3 kids at around 5-6 weeks. But at 4 weeks it was also in the thousands...I wanna say around 2000 or so. So your low # at 4 weeks is throwing me off.
But to me your hcg# does seem a bit elevated for 5 weeks and its crazy how much it jumped (but in a good way). So, if you're sure that you are only 5 weeks and not more....then i'd say you might have twins!
Either way, congrats! :)
