I don't trust any weight loss plan that includes anything other than ingesting fewer calories and getting more exercise.

There is a lot of controversy with this diet in the news right now. The doctors are saying medically it is not good. It is basically a starvation diet. Once you stop you cannot continue to eat 500-800 calories a day so the weight will come back.

I have done Weight Watchers which is a lifestyle change. It teaches you how to eat the right portions, how much to exercise, what to cook with instead of butter and sugars. There is a maintenance plan to keep the weight off after you lose what you need to. IMO this is a safer way to go, no pills, drops, or hormone injections.

I am considering myself to get a little jump start and motivation. However, the only way I would consider it is as part of a doctor supervised program. My doctor offers a 23 and 40 day protocol with intranasal dosagage. You have a weekly appointment for a weigh-in and VB12 shot.

I am concerned about making it through the first few days. I get angry when 8 am hungry...lol.

I am on my second round of the HCG drops... I say second round 'cause I do a month on the diet and a month off. The month that I did the diet I lost 20 pounds and was able to keep it off due to changes in my physical activity and diet.
I won't do the injections because they are not regulated (my understanding that is) and the doctors can't guarantee whether the HCG donors did or did not have any diseases and/or illnesses.

My mother and sister in law have done this. It seems miserable. They lost some weight but couldnt keep up with the diet and gained it back. Try weight watchers and exercise, thats how I lost 40 lbs.

I'm on it now, and I've lost 8 lbs. in 6 days so far. It's really miserable the first few days, but after that its not so bad. I already deal with low blood sugar, so that part was really challenging. I've had to tweek the diet just a bit to be realistic for me. In the morning, I eat a Chobani yogurt. (Not allowed) Yes, I know, its 140 calories, but it has 14 grams of protein, and it really helps me get through the morning. So far, it hasn't made my loss stall at all. I would try it if I were you. I searched hcg diet in the search bar, and what I found was that the majority of negative opinions came from people who had only heard about it, but the good things came from people who had actually done it. Amazing, the difference between "hearing" about it and actually doing it. :D The other thing that I was going to add is that after I drop 30 lbs, I'm going to start Weight Watchers to maintain the loss. I dropped 65 lbs on WW after the birth of my daughter, so I definitely recommend it. The reason that I chose to do the hcg is because WW takes a bit longer. I just wanted to have a rapid weight loss to boost my motivation. Whatever you decide, good luck!

While I haven't tried it, my OBGYN does it in her office and I've seen people have great success with it. (www.trueharmonywellness.com) That being said, Dr. Oz discussed it on his show a few weeks ago and honestly, after watching it, I don't think I'd do it. You may want to see if you can find that episode online or go to his website and get the information. He evaluated the pros and cons and the people who were successful and those who had really serious side effects.

My mother and sister have had good success with it. Time will tell if they keep it off. They said don't mess with the drops in your mouth, do injections. And make sure you get the right stuff, there are things sold out there that arent the exact HCG you need for this diet.

I think it's the best one. I shopped around. My doctor is the one who told me about it. I have kept my weight off for 6 months. Go for it! Beware though alot of people will tell u it's a scam so beware who u will tell not everyone will be supportive. Way to go

I lost 15 pounds in 21 days, and am in the 'retrain phase' now. I'm now eating 1,500 healthy calories a day, and I plan to do another round of the DROPS once this phase is over. I have done weight watchers, south beach, l.a. weight loss, jenny craig, and medical weight loss. I have had success with some, not with others. As with any diet, you gain the wieght back if you go back to unhealthy food and overeating. I don't need to learn how to eat, so this diet has been great. It's no harder than any other if your problem is with restriction in general. But the results are fast and dramatic, and you will keep it off as long as you make good choices. My blood pressure and blood sugar had become high from carring the extra wieght for too long, and I actually felt sick. After only a month, I feel wonderful. My blood pressure is way down already, and I've had more energy than I have in years (probably because of insulin regulation now). I can see why this diet could raise health concerns due to the temporary portion of it that is very low calorie. But you know what can be even more dangerous to a persons life in the long run? Obesity. If you only need to lose 15 pounds, hit the gym and cut out the junk. When you're dealing with 30 plus pounds of extra fat, you are facing health risks already. Good luck with whatever you choose.
EDIT: After browsing my inbox, I came back to this response. I would like to add that 4 months later, I have lost a total of 34 pounds. I did two rounds of the drops, that's a total of six weeks. The rest of the time I did the retrain and maintnence protocols of the skinny up diet. Just thought I'd update since I know a lot of people don't approve of this type of diet. But here I am, looking good and feeling great!
