I'm looking for a new pediatrician and someone recommended ABCD Pediatrics. Has anyone else had experience with them? Recommendation for specific dr, wait time, any problems, etc.
Thanks in advance.

We switched to them 5 months ago and I'm very happy. We go to the Schertz office. I don't think it's as busy as the main office.

We have taken our 22 month old son to ABCD in Stone Oak since birth. We initially had Dr. Wilke (she did our son's circumcision) but switched when it was evident she was completely focused on our son being on the growth chart for weight & we always felt rushed. We switched to Dr. Schlosberg, who visited me in the hospital at Methodist, and we love him; he's concerned about progression, not actual #'s. We don't feel rushed & feel he is very knowledgable. Just saw him this morning on the spur of the moment - was able to get in 10 minutes after making the phone call! They are a busy office, but I think most dr's offices are that way these days. We've seen the NP, Michelle Darby, too & she's nice. I like the flexibility of being able to have the same chart but seeing different dr's if Schloslberg isn't available-they at least have my son's health history. If you keep on track/time w/ well visits, you shouldn't have a problem getting in - we haven't anyway. I felt that the different nurses that gave our son his vaccines & shots were all competent & fast, which can be nice when they get their shots!!! We had to wait about an hour ONE time on a Wednesday w/ Wilke after they called us to the room, but I think that is VERY rare; I would also encourage 1st or latest appt. of the day to minimize the possible wait time, but we've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for well or dr. visits. Our son's only been for well visits up until this last week - 1st time getting sick & ended up w/ a double ear infection, which is now gone. We saw Dr. Fisher last week for the 1st time & really liked him - very nice, explains things thoroughly, knowledgable & we don't feel rushed. At the end of the day, I agree w/ the gal that answered earlier - find one you mesh will well & feel comfortable with! I also like that they have Saturday hours - 8-12 - it sure helped today-kids aren't just sick M-F! Good luck :)

We go there now, and I really like it. Fun atmosphere(trains and toys to play with; a rocket scale and firetruck exam tables). Sick side and well side waiting room. Good doctors. We love Dr. Gonzalez, she really stuck with us to figure out our son's asthma problem. We've been able to call and get in that very day every time he's been ill.

We did have to wait about a week to get him in to a well-child visit, but it wasn't a big deal.

They also have a Schertz office that is pretty convenient--my friend goes to that one a lot because it's closer than Stone Oak.

I would recommend them without reservation! Feel free to email me with any other questions you may have.

we started there with our first child and left when she was 7 months old...I hated the doctor we had..had seen another while we were there and she was great...i disliked basey (not sure the spelling is correct) but a good friend of mine goes to her and likes her...everytime we saw her there was something developmentally wrong and that it would require surgery...blah blah..finally had enough and pulled her records..of course our new doctor didn't agree with anything she said.. Our daughter is now 7 and was reading before she entered kinder and is above grade level going into second...like to tell basey to stick that in her pipe and smoke it!! once i told basey i decided not to breastfeed the relationship changed..we call people like that nipple nazis in my circle of friends-pedis are a dime in a dozen, so just find one that you mesh with..all three of my girls are now at New Braunfels Pediatrics and we love it..been with them for about 3 years....Dr. Owens is who they see..great hours and I've always gotten in for a same day appointment...

I started out at NE Pediatrics and had lots of issues with them and someone recommended ABCD Pediatrics. We tried it out and have been going there since my daughter turned 6 months. She is now 20 months and we are on baby #2 and plan on taking the new baby there as well. We see Dr. Wilke although I have seen Dr. Gonzalez, NP Michelle Darby and have liked them all! I like that if you cannot get into your doctor, they have all the information for your child and you can see another doctor! We never had to wait more than 10 minutes and they are very thorough and take as much time as you need for questions and examinations. Vaccines have always gone very smoothly as well. The train in the waiting room is nice for when your child is sick and of course well too. The seperate sick/well sides are great! Highly recommend ABCD!!!

we switched to ABCD after our old Pedi did not notice my daughter had a UTI and kept saying it was a viral infection, anyway it ended up as a severe kidney infection. We then changed to ABCD and we love it so far, we see Dr. Fischer. He is very nice and is very good with the kids, we have never waited long to get into a room and you can get a same day appt very fast. Ususally you will not get your specific MD if you have a same day appt, but that is to be expected, Anyway sorry so long to tell you we love it there!

LOVE IT, I have been going there for about 6 yrs....I have three kids. :-) We love Schlosberg, Wilke, Gonzalez, Michelle Darby, and I don't remember the Schertz office doctors names since I've only switched to there a couple months. BUT they are really great too, I don't care to see the same doctors every time except for the well visits, which you do need to call a month or two ahead of time to get. I've never had a problem getting in the same day, I've had to call the doctor's in the middle of the night a couple times and they always call back. Once I was in Arkansas and brought one kid to the ER for strep, well then the next one started it, I called them and since the first had been diagnosed, Dr Schlosberg agreed to call in a perscription for an antibiotic.

The office is always clean, staff is ALWAYS friendly and I can always get an appointment when I need it, if I have to get referred out for something, they referral lady (Sylvia) always calls when they say she will and the doctors they send me to are always kid friendly. They've always called me with test results, I love their nurses line to where I can ask a nurse a question (always call me back quick).

I can't say enough good things.

We went there for years and liked it but they have gotten really big and busy! We switched a while back because we were having trouble getting in to see the same doctor every time and if you didn't call well in advance for the well child visits then you might not get in when you need...my 6 month old was going to have to wait until she was 8 months to be seen for her 6 month visit due to them being so busy. We always saw Michelle Darby the Nurse Practitioner but we had also been seen by most of the Dr's there at some time or another. The only one I really didn't care for was Dr. Gonzales. So, long story short...they are a very busy office and sometimes we just couldn't get in when we needed.

I recently switched to ABCD pediatrics this month and have had one great experience so far. My son got a rash and they made a same day appt for me. I walked in and waited 2 mins at the most and was seen. We saw Dr Gonzalez, she was great and spent alot of time with us being that it was his 1st visit. She was great! I work for a local day care center and most of my kids go there and I have heard great things about all the doctors and the facility!

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Gonzales at ABCD since birth, she will be 3 in January, and I highly recommend her. In fact we have seen just about every Dr. there including the NP's and they are all great. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes and if you call the same day for an appointment they can almost always get you in.I also like that they have a Sick side of the waiting room and a Well side. HTH.
Good Luck.

I love Dr. Basey. She has 3 children of her own so she can give you information based not just on her medical background but also based on her mom background. She works part-time and stays home with her kids part-time. I feel that when you have an appointment with her she really takes her time and is not as rushed as the other doctors in the group and gives you very well thought out answers to your questions. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the doctors in the group, they are all very good. The wait time is awesome there, I have never had to wait long at all.
