Has Anyone Used Jenny Craig?

I need to lose some weight and am not very good about sticking to a diet. I was thinking that if I had meals prepackaged and someone checking up on me every week that I might have more success. I need to do this for several reasons but mainly because I have just been diagnosed with high blood pressure and would like to see if losing those extra few pounds will help.

Anyway, has anyone used this program recently and if so what is the approximate expense of food weekly? That is my biggest concern. How much will it cost?

Also if anyone else has had any success with other programs please let me know. I need to do something pretty quick.

Thank you guys!

So What Happened?

Thank you guys for all of your helpful responses. You have given much to think about. I will do a little more research and see which plan I decide to go with. I definately like the idea of the prepackaged meals but need to weigh the expense. Thanks again for all of your wonderful remarks!

I tried it for about 1 month but it got too expensive for me. You buy food from the center which is $300-400 or so but then you still have to buy fruits, veggies, etc. If you can afford it the food is okay. The center I went to did not have very good support, it was always busy and hectic. I would recommend finding a center and a "counselor" where you can get support and they are able to really partner with you. Remember that Kirstie and Valerie probably have personal trainers to go along with Jenny. Good luck and if you find this or something else works let us know. I am still 30 pounds heavier than before I had my daughter.

I have a life time membership. I have not used it for years. I was fine going to them until they turned me lose and then I went back. After one bag of potato chips and I did not gain I soon went back to old habits. But it is portions and small meals lots of fruits and veggies. Lots of water. It helps to write down and check off your water. At least 8 glasses a day. I hated some of the breakfast food. They say if you eat whole grain food it also helps reduce. Just nothing that is eating a lot or extreme of anything. Eat slow as your stomach does not register full if you eat fast. Give it time to be satisfied. Years ago I was to skinny and ate simple and just enough to be satisfied. I did not use salad dressing or sour cream or anything. Ate just enough. Now that I like to cook and love food that is a different story. I still am not huge as some of these young girls. At the time one gal counseling me in Jenny Craig said I really was not over weight and did not really need to be going so I quit. I was about 16 pounds heavier. G. W

I was on JC for 10 weeks and Loved it the only reason that stopped was because I got PG. I plan on going back on after the baby. I lost 16lbs and it was so easy. The food is really good also. I was worried about still having to cook for my husband but it wasn't an issue. He would just grill something and eat the veggies I had cooked anyway.

The cost is a little pricey but after a few weeks you end up with a few extra meals, just because you ate out or went to a friends house or something like that. So you just can buy the amount of food you need for the week.

Totally worth it and so easy in My Opinion. You really learn to eat smaller portions and healthier.

I have now been off for 17 weeks and I am PG and I have only gained 6lbs.

I HIGHLY recommend the Isagenix health and Wellness cleansing program, it's all healthy and natural. I had many issues as you do. No energy, tired, headaches, hard time sleeping at night and of course the extra pounds. I have never felt better than I do now. It has helped many people.
www.kristinestell.isagenix.com or you can email or even call and I can tell you more about it.
It also has a 30 day money back guarantee, that's what encouraged me to do it. And also there are no harmful products in Isagenix.

I know someone else said it was expensive, but if you break it down it's only $3.66 a meal and you can't even get a meal deal at Wendy's for that.
You can mix up your own products, but it takes so much more work and I want to know that I have the best, not whatever the Health food store has. Also I don't always know what all the ingred. really are that are on the label, and I want only what's good for me.

I know a diet seems to be what is needed to lose excess weight -- unless you are a very disciplined person my suggestions will not work either. Forget the diet and join a fitness center, workout twice a week and depending on your age I can pretty much promise you you will lose inches, not weight. If you have no idea what to do, get a trainer for a few sessions then branch out on your own. Eat only when you are hungry. Eat what you want just make sure you are getting the amount of calories you need and not starving.

Hi C., I have not personally done Jenny Craig but I have been doing Weight Watchers since last March. I have lost about 30 pounds and I really don't feel like I have been dieting. WW allows you to still eat the foods you like, however, it teaches you how to control how much you eat. I have had great success with it. I pay $40/month and I go to a weekly meeting as well as weigh in weekly. It is definitely not a quick fix but anything that is a quick fix will not last. It truly is a lifestyle change.

Hi C.,

I have not used Jenny Craig. Have you ever thought about doing a Cleanse? I am on Isagenix and they have a cellular cleanse that pulls the toxins out of your body. The side benefit is losing weight. I went from a size 12 to an 8 and I jhave lost over 19 inches! I did this in 4 weeks on Isagenix. It is probably less expensive than Jenny Craig? We also have a support group that we do and it does help.
You can watch this Channel 4 Brodcast on the products! People are getting results fast.

I can tell you more about our programs. WE have several Dallas Cowboys on Isagenix and even the head coach. I am also working w/ LA Fitness and their members and the Grapevine Firefighters. Please email or call me and I can definitely help you get on track.

Sincerely,

I joined Jenny Craig 3 weeks ago and have lost 10 lbs. It is super easy to follow and having the pre-packaged meals makes it so convenient. I needed this extra help to get a perspective on the correct portion sizes also. I highly recommend it.

As for the cost, it is a bit expensive but you can choose to buy just the meals you want. your counselor can really work with you and fit it into your budget. Good Luck

Hey C.,
I have done Jenny Craig and its a great program but it will cost a little more. They usually run different specials, its $20.00 right now I think for 20pounds or 3months??? Once your on it for a couple of weeks, you will learn about how to substitute different things to bring your weekly cost down. If you stick to the program its about $100.00 a week. I make sure to buy the dinners when I'm doing it and some lunches but can substitute a lot of snacks, all breakfast foods and a lot of lunches. It really depends on what consultant you get, it can make all the difference. They will help a lot. I'm not a good dieter, this one was the first and only one I have ever done and it does work! I've been really bad about my eating habits lately and am planning on going in sometime this week just to help get in the swing of things and lose those extra pounds that I have put on. The food is really good too. I'm an eater and I actually never really felt hungry doing the program. It makes a big difference if you start seeing those results right away. I've heard good things about weight watchers too but I think for me, having the food ready to go and knowing exactly what I should eat was what I needed. Good luck! A.
