I have a Moby Wrap and I loved it. I didn't get it until my little girl was about 6 months old but I wish I would have had it all along. Once you learn to tie it, it's easy, it really only takes a couple of times before you are a pro. I practiced with a teddy bear before I put Alyssa in mine, and she loved it. My Husband really like it to, it was a way he could be close to her, walking around with her in it. If we have any more I'll use it constantly.

I love it. I have a 7 month old and am still using it to go on walks. I tried a few other carriers and the Moby wrap was the easiest on my shoulders and back!

I *loved* mine during the first few months with dd#3. She was so secure in it, and it held her head up, that I was able to move around at places like the park with my older 2 and interact with them in ways that they needed. As a pp mentioned, it's very challenging to nurse in it, and it takes a little work to tie, but you get faster with practice and it's well worth it!

YES, get the Moby... but make one yourself!! I just bought some cheap fabric with some stretch (5-6 yards depending on your size). Then wrap it using the instructions at this site: http://www.mobywrap.com/t-instructions-Cradle.aspx

I have tried all the other wraps and slings and this is the MOST COMFORTABLE baby-carrier! I can wear my daughter for hours. I have even worn my 2 yr old and it was comfortable. Try it out and let us know :)

I have one and have been using it for 6mos now. I love it. It, like all other things has it's flaws, it is long and really should be wrapped before you leave home (so you don't drag it on the ground...), and if you nurse, you have to unwrap unless you have on a button down shirt. HOWEVER, the pluses are (I noticed the closeness of your little ones) with the infant you can completely enclose them so your hands are free to help toddler. It is very secure and comfy, for both you and baby. It also wraps several different ways so you can adapt it. I use it for my toddler when we grocery shop if my baby is sleeping. He stays in the infant carrier and she goes in with the hip hold and it is very handy. Look for a store that carries it, we have mother nurture here in lexington, you can try it on along with any other carriers they may have.
Good luck and congrats with the new arrival...

This isn't what you asked for, but...

No, I haven't used a Moby Wrap, simply because it's so darn hot here, and it looked like a ton of fabric. But I've really liked my pouch slings from www.slinglings.com.

my friend in Seattle let me barrow one of hers while I was there for my Grandmas funeral I loved it it was so comfortable to hold my baby for the long catholic service. but you do get a lot of attention elsewhere because of the colorful designs on the other hand you get a lot of attention for carrying a baby. I hope you enjoy your wrap!!

I have not used a Moby wrap. They look like they are difficult to use and hot!... I have a sling that I also got from slingling.com and I love it! i actually have two of them. They are very easy to use abd my 4 month old loves it. They are also good to use if you are breast feeding. The baby can nurse, while you are doing something else around the house..LOL....I am very pleased with mine. Several of my friends have them to and they alove theirs as well. I seen you have a one year old two. One of my friends bought one and uses it on her 1yr old and she loves it too.

I also practiced "baby wearing" and always encourage other moms to try it too. Although I'm not very familiar with the Moby, every mom seems to have her favorite. So the Moby may best best for you. My favorite was the Asian Mei Tai style.
With another on the way, you could sure use the freedom a bay carrier offers. My favorite part was being able to hold the baby but have my arms free.

Here's a link to my two favorite places for info on baby wearing.

For general info and tons of good links to different types of slings/wraps/carriers:

I use the maya wrap for my DH which works great! It has an adjustable zipper and is easy to take on an off. Check out the Maya wrap website, and buy a wrap from the outlet. It's about 1/2 the price, so you won't feel guilty it you only use it a few times.

Hi C.,
I have enjoyed my Moby quite a bit and find it very good on my back and secure for may different positions of carrying the child. I did also use a sling as well, but obviously since they hang off one shoulder, they can pull on the back a bit for longer carries. And now the my son is bigger we have gone to the Ergo carrier and my husband likes this style the best too, I guess it's "more manly". So I have found that most parents end up using more than one style. There are alot of options. You can try to see if there is a local retailer near you and you can go and play with them. Also check for a local baby wearers group, just search online. Lots of times with these groups they bring demos for you to try to the meetings. And a good online store I help out with is www.CarryMeClosely.com they have Moby's , etc

Happy Hunting and Congrats on number two!

Honestly, I didnt like mine. I had one after my daughter was born, but I found it a pain to wrap, and then she would slide more often than not. I purchased a ring sling and a hot sling after that, and I can say I had great experiences with both of those. They were much easier to take on and off, and with the ring sling especially, it stayed adjusted much better.

Yes, i bought one and it was great. The only complaint i would have is that any of the wraps get hot in the summer. A sling might be cooler.

Good Luck,

Yes! I bought one and also a woven Ellaroo wrap.
I prefer woven wraps over jersey (ie moby) because they hold more weight. I LOVE the look of woven wraps too. The only down fall is that they are more expensive.

i never used a moby, but my mom ordered me a miracle blanket. it would have been great, but my daughter was very little and it was too big. by the time she grew into it, she was too old to swaddle. but i'm saving it for the next baby and will try it again. but i'll have to maybe dye the color since it's pink and we're having a boy this time...haha.

I got one as a gift from someone who loved hers. Although my baby loved to be held all the time she hated the wrap. I tried it several times and gave up. Plus it was difficult for me to figure out. I could do the steps but it never felt right to me. My baby also never liked to be swaddled though so maybe thats why she hated it! I will save it for a future child though and try again. I think with these things it is always so individual.
