Hi ladies, I'm 27, married with 3 kids and really struggling with a very low libido. My husband is wonderful and a very involved Dad and I stay home with my 7 year old son and 1 year old boy/girl twins. Has anyone here tried Zestra, the herbal lubricant claiming that it increases female arousal? I'm desperate for some help/advice and seriously miss feeling excited about sex :(

I haven't tried it, but after reading Dawn's post, I just might! I am 44 and in the throws of perimenopause myself, not to mention a crossroads of sorts in my life.

Thanks for asking the question. I'm sure my guy might thak you as well!

And thanks Dawn (this is why I LOVE this site!).

LOL......... What Dawn said! As a matter of fact, I did the bath (instead of a shower) before bed time 2 nights this week and it worked. I lit my candles and played some soft music while I soaked in a hot steamy bath. Of course, this is all after the kids are in bed.

Also, if the kids go to bed by or before 9pm, that's the time to run your bath. Don't worry about trying to complete housework at this late hour because when you're done, you'll only want to go to sleep. So if necessary, those dinner dishes can wait til morning. Run your hot bath and get your romance on girl!

For what it's worth, our boys just turned 3 and I'm JUST NOW starting to get my sex drive back. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but thought it might be something to think about.

I had the same problem for years! Sucks. I also had painful, long, and heavy periods. I did some research and it was a hormone imbalance. I started using a bio-identical hormone cream twice a day and I'm like a new woman! My periods are down to four days max and minimal cramping and MUCH lighter bleeding...oh and they're always on time. I mention the cycle because it all goes hand in hand. When your hormones are balanced your libido gets on track and healthy as well as every other woman issue. If you have a good doctor that actually listens to you (rare) then you can try to get a full hormone panel done and see what it comes back as (and don't let them tell you you are too young! If you are past puberty you are not too young). Or you can try a over the counter bio-identical cream first and see if that helps. Some are way better then others though. I'm happy with mine and its not expensive either.

i am 38 and had a total hysterectomy last year. I was worried about the same thing. I am on patches for estrogen and I take compounded testosterone! The testosterone really helps! Talk to your OB or dr about it!!

I tried it after my son was about 1 year old and I still had no libido, I was very excited to try it after hearing testimonials. It did NOTHING for me, just hurt my pocketbook. It created a warm sensation down there which I found a bit annoying. It did not increase blood flow for me or at least nothing that felt similar to arousal. Maybe my problems run deeper and it could work for you though, that was just my experience. Good luck.
