I have been looking into joining Curves with their 30 minute workouts for women and wanted to know if anyone else has tried it. Do you like it? Does it get boring by doing the same rotation each time?

Thanks!

It worked for a little while for me. It was a good atmosphere and everyone was really nice, but yeah it did get a bit boring. Also after a little while once I lost some weight, it wasnt enough cardio or weights, I needed more so I plateaued for a long time and eventually stopped going. 30 minutes its great to start but over time you need more.

I love it. I joined a year ago. The women are funny and you get to know them. Curves does all kinds of fun games and trivia through out the year to keep you interested. They put out a free newsletter and magazine which is of excellent quality. I am in good shape and training for a race and Curves defintley helps. You get the work out you put into it because it is resistance. Check it out for a day, or see if they have a promo going on for a free week or reduced initiation fee. Good Luck!

Dear K.:

I have been going to Curves for about five years. I LOVE IT!!!

I go to the Rockridge branch but all of them are great. They are very supportive, have great weght loss programs and all the women are very friendly. It is fast, clean, and fun.

The only drawback is no showers or childcare but that is how they keep their monthly costs for membership so low.

I would highly reccomend joining. :)

Hi K.: I am PRO on Curves. Joined there many years ago
and found the community of 'women only' working out to be
less frightening. In fact, I found it quite the opposite-it was encouraging! Now every Curves is different and I know that the women I started with were quite exception, but the benefits out way any disadvantages. And you have to remmember with any exercize program, as with anything in life, alot has to do with what you put into it. When I joined (very shy and reserved) I was encouraged by the trainers with an "I can do it" attitude. In the first 90 days I lost 30+ pounds and gained alot of self esteem not to mention muscle tone. Later on I worked for them for awhile and wanted to pass forward what I had received.
Good luck.

I have been a member for 4 years and I LOVE IT!!! I have more energy and strength. The pounds only fall off if you eat well and exercise!! I love the ladies I work out with. I went alone and gained a lot of new friendships. Very comfortable environment. You can always step up your program to burn even MORE calories and the stretching is VERY important. I would give it a whirl. The only down side is no day care at my facility. GO and have fun!!

I was a member in the past and my only negative was the hours of the facility. Being a single mom with 4 kids it was hard for me to get there before 7 alot of the time and they are not open on Sundays (this is my Curves). As far as the workouts I loved it and did not get bored at all, my oldest even worked there for a while when it fit her school schedule. I was actually looking into doing it again but will have to work out the sitter issues before hand so I will be committed on certain days.

I LOVE Curves. It is a wonderful workout that truely just takes 30 minutes. You have to be a fan of circuit training, which I am. The only down side is the hours of operation. Currently, it doesn't work with my schedule, so I haven't been able to go back since my boys were born. I will be going back as soon as I can work it into my schedule.

I joined Curves with a friend about four years ago before my wedding. I wasn't super thrilled with the results and once my friend moved away, there was little motivation to go. I didn't feel like I got a lot out of it, but that's just my experience. On the other hand, I have done Weight Watchers and have just returned post-pregnancy and it's a fabulous system! Yes it's a pain counting points, but it's the one thing I've found that consistently helps me lose weight.
