I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with baysitting cooperatives? Is it like I'll watch your child and then you watch mine?

What can I do next?

I did that with a girlfriend of mine, I took one of her girls home with me so our girls could play and then my girlfriend would watch my daughter for a couple hours when I needed to get some stuff done. It worked well cuz we knew eachother and our girls got along really well so they had so much fun when they got together :)

I know that we tried to spark an interest in this amongst our friends, but only got a lukewarm response. However, we have done a date-night thing at our cooperative preschool, where parents can drop off their kids at the preschool on a scheduled Friday night... all of the parents have been run through the screening process, and they're on familiar turf at the preschool... many of the parents that we've worked with through the co-op have become friends that we would trust for such a thing... you may be a while off... but... if you're interested... www.comstockpreschool.com

my sister-in-law and her friends do this all the time. The kids are close to the same age, some are on the same sports teams - so it seems to work out great for them.

I have not, but I would be very cautious if this is with people that you do no know.
