I am looking to purchase a product to clean hardwood floors and laminate. We are moving to a new house very soon and our vaccuum does not work on our laminate floor and my shark is useless in the kitchen. I was looking into the dirtdevil broom vac and wanted suggestions, I have read the reviews on the product. Thanks.

What can I do next?

Hi!
I use a large flat rectangular duster with washable fine terry cloth covers then...
I use a bucket of very warm water, a few blups of white vinegar 1/2 cup approx. and a liebmann wonder mop. Leaves my hardwood gorgeous. No streaking and very inexpensive!

I have laminate floors and I hate them if you are going to get wood floors go with the real thing ,after $4000.00 spent on these floors I wish I would of went with real wood! they are not as durable as everyone says, they are a pain to keep shiny and clean ,I would never never reconmend anyone to purchase laminate flooring ever ,they chip split and if they get wet the swell and become ugly. hope this helps

We use the swifter. It is really nice to go from hardwood to laminate, vinyl flooring. I use the good old fashoin mop and bucket when doing a major cleaning and I use Murphy's Oil for the hardwood, I would not reccomend putting anything else on it for fear of ruining the floor and I tend to use the same water for the vinyl flooring. Vaccuums and other product and scrape a hardwood floor so be careful. Also if you know who put the flooring in call the company and they should tell you what the reccommend. We had JP flooring and that is what they reccommended at the time we had the flooring installed.

I just bought the Hoover Floormate for my wood floors. It is the old version so it was on clearance for $50. I could not beleive the amount of dirt and sludge that it cleaned off my wood floor hallway - and I have not even got to the rest of it yet. The new version also has rotating brushes which the guy said are better for tile and vinyl floor. All we have it wood, so the older cheaper model was fine for us.

I would recommend the Floormate-but I would get the nicer one. It sucks up water left behind so that you can walk on it right away! Its great!

I have hardwood floors in my home and we have 3 small dogs. I use a dirt devil quick-up vacuum designed for carpet or hard wood to pick-up pet hair, crumbs, dirt etc. I then clean the floors with a swiffer wet for hardwood.
