Halloween Costume

I'm looking for suggestions and/or someone that can make an infant costume. My daughter's name is Breanne but her brother calls her Bran, which has led to the nickname of Raisin Bran. So for Halloween we want to make her a raisin. I'm thinking a purple bubble suit or something like that but I haven't been able to find anything online.

If you know someone who could make this for me or have any suggestions for how we could do it ourselves, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

What can I do next?

My sister, who lives in PA, made a GREAT Pteradactyl costume for my son. I'm sure she could handle the raisin. That said, the lady who posted about the do it yourself version had a really good idea too. I would maybe attach the shirt to a onesie at the neck and arms before stuffing it, then sew it closed at the bottom. And don't maybe just stuff the front/sides and not the back so the little one can lie down comfortably in the stroller. Let me know if you want me to pass it on my sis - she sews for fun, so I'm sure she'd be reasonable cost-wise :)

Remember the commercial for raisin bran where the raisins dance to I heard it thru the grapevine. I did a skit at work with some ladies, we were the raisins. We wore black trash bags with purple tights and white gloves. We had purple shorts on under the trash bag. Being that your daughter is so young and plastic is high risk...I'd look for a baggy black tshirt and gather it at the end with elastic. To make it puffy you could put some quilt batting under the shirt. You could do it yourself. Record the song, carry a handheld player and you're set to go. Martha Stewart had a woman on her show last year that made infant halloween suits around the theme of food. Check out her website for ideas. Hope this helps.

J.,
You've got to subscribe to Family Fun magazine! They have tons of ideas for families, including costumes. It was one of my favorite magazine when my kids were younger, always gave me lots of good ideas, games, parties, and costumes. You can get info on line, but the magazine is a "must".

Try etsy.com You need to register (free), then put in an alchemy request, describe what you want and how much you want to pay. People then put in bids, describing what they can make for you and how much it will cost. This way you can reach seamstresses from across the country and you can also look at their stores to see what they can do!

I did a quick random search for "Halloween Costume" and found page upon page of items. Check out this store http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_3&li.... This seller might be able to make a raisin costume for you. You can send her a message through etsy and see what happens!

Best wishes,
