I am in desperate need of a really good hair stylist, preferrably in the Denton or surrounding areas. I have not had my hair cut professionally since May 2008 and my mom cut it for me in Oct 2008. My hair needs help, but since I have no sense of fashion I need someone to look at my hair and face and tell me what kind of cut would suit me. One that would also be able to cut my hair that is easy to style and can be done in a matter of minutes...like the stylist on "What Not to Wear." Is this an impossible request?
Well...I finally got my hair cut and highlighted. It was at Salon Off the Square located off Mckinney. Lacy did my hair. I told her that I wasn't sure what I wanted but I needed something that could be pulled into a ponytail and was also easy to style. I left the rest up to her. My hair looks fantastic! A little added bonus...Ad Pages has some good coupons.
It would be a bit of a drive for you from Denton, but I have been really impressed with Valerie Wagberg. She is in Frisco near the Tollway and Lebannon. I had been in between hair stylists for a long time and thought she did a great job assessing my hair and determing just the right style and color.

You've gotten lots of recommendations so far, but I'll give you mine anyway. I have used Lisa at Davanti Salon for about 6 years. She is the owner of the salon. It is located next to The children's Place in Denton. I don't know the name of the shopping center, but it is the one with Best Buy and Old Navy. Lisa is great! She is honest and experienced and will listen to what you want. Good luck!

When I moved to Denton 3 years ago, I went online and asked about someone cool to do hair. EVERYONE w/out exception recommended him. I went, and now he does my and my husband's hair. He's great!
He has a mohawk, so if that puts you off--don't let it! :) I've seen him do hair on people who are of all ages, styles, and both men and women. He's so talented! :)
I send LOTS of people to P. White at Amici Salon on South Locust (just south of the square) in Denton. This is the best haircut I've EVER had and am still shocked and wowed when people stop me at the grocery store, gas pump, church, etc. to ask who cuts my hair. I have a stylist in Denton at the Super Cuts on Avenue C (near UNT). Her name is Devan and she's great! She's very easy to talk to, so you'll be able to tell her what your needs are and she can go from there, and I've never seen her produce a "bad" cut. I go to Davanti Salon in Denton close to Old Navy. Lisa Brocato is the owner and also cuts hair. Emily cuts mine and she is very good. They may not be the cheapest, but you wear your haircut every day...that's what I tell my husband.
