Hair Stylist Recommendation near McKinney?

Hi moms! I'm suffering from Frumpy Mom Syndrome, and need some help! Can anyone recommend a great hairdresser in the McKinney area to give me a new look? I currently have long, very naturally curly hair that ends up in a ponytail just about every day. I want something stylish but relatively low maintenance, since I'm chasing 2 little ones (10 mos and 3 years). I'm looking to keep it in the $50 or so range, if possible. Downtown McKinney would be ideal, but I'll drive a bit if necessary. TIA!

My family and several friends use Tana at Staley's. Staley's is on Waddill just South of 380. Tana makes her own appointments and her cell is: ###-###-####. Her prices are great - cut and style for me is $27, when she does my highlights/cut/style it's $65. My kids are only $6 and my husband is $12.

The Styling Hutch in Plano at Legacy and Coit specializes in curly hair. A cut runs about $60. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my daughter's curly hair. They are amazing, and she constantly gets compliments on her hair. It was out of control before we went to someone who knew how do deal with curly hair!

For curly hair, you should try Claudia at The Styling Hutch in Plano. Coit and Legacy. ###-###-#### As I'm sure you know, not everyone can cut curly hair. She is FABULOUS and sells the Ouidad line of products for curly hair, which are great also!

There is a salon in downtown McKinney called 209 Downtown Salon & Spa. I spoke with the owner yesterday and have my first appointment on Saturday for a mom makeover! I've heard wonderful things about them from several people, I'm kinda picky! Check out their fantastic reviews on Yahoo. Good luck with your search! www.209downtown.com

My stylist is Marvin at Daired's in the Village at Fairview. He recently moved to this salon and I followed him because he's fantastic! He recently did 11 year old's hair -- she has long, wavy red hair but it needed some style and he did a fantastic job! And if you go to their website and sign up you'll receive daily specials (20% off services, etc.).

I agree with the others. I have naturally curly hair and I love the Styling Hutch in Plano. My hair is under control now. They are a little more pricy than some salons, but as I usually only have to get my hair cut 2-3 times a year now, it is definitely worth it. I use Dee, but I'm sure the others are just as good.
