A few questions about hair removal –

I have a lot of the fine, white colored hairs on my upper lip, some on/around my chin and some in the ‘sideburn’ area. Most of these hairs are only visible in bright sunlight. So in regular light, they are hardly noticeable.

I think most women have upper lip hair. But does everyone have facial hair in these other areas (‘sideburns’ and around chin) or am I ‘blessed’ :) ?
I do have hormone issues, so that may be why I have the hair in these areas??

For those that are ‘blessed’ like me, do you do hair removal of all the hair by/around the chin and sideburns? So do you remove every single facial hair regardless of where it is?
If so, what is the best hair removal you’ve found for your face?

And an underarm hair removal question-
Currently I just do the old fashioned shaving for underarm hair, but I would love to move on to a more effective, longer lasting technique. And I prefer something that I can do at home.
What is the best products (hair removal cream, wax (ouch?), etc) to remove underarm hair?
I thought I remember seeing something about not being able to use underarm deodorant after using a hair removal product (don’t remember which brand/product though). Do people really have to avoid underarm deodorant for a couple days or is there a different solution?
I don’t think I could get away with not wearing deodorant, especially in the summer.

Thanks for all your help!!!

I had electrolysis on upper lip years ago, but some new hairs have come in in the middle of the upper lip, so I wax them. Electrolysis was a bit painful, but you can take a couple of advil before you go and it helps.

My sister had laser hair removal on upper lip and chin, worked great and less painful (it is a little painful, but a couple of zaps and you're done).

Groupon frequently will have places that are running specials on laser hair removal, so sign up for that and look to see if they have any specials.

I would like to know if most women have unwanted hair on their face too! I have always had some on my upper lip but it has gotten fine and blond over the years. If you can't see it in most light, leave it alone. I know that recently after waxing I would get in grown hairs and that looked even worse than the fine hair did. You can put deodorant on after you shave your underarms but may have to wait if you wax. I would not reccomend doing that yourself as pit hair grows in lots of different directions, is pretty strong, and you have to grow it out for the wax to adhere. You can do laser but it will take at least 4-5 visits and you have to do it at a center.

Ahh I don't know. I know my youngest got all the Greek and Sicilian genes my ex an I had to offer. As such these are issues she will have to deal with. I will give her laser treatments for where ever hair grows that it aught not to.

I have had friends that have had their pits lasered, god saying that makes me laugh. I have no idea whether they couldn't for a while but I assure you they use deodorant.

You don't mention if your underarm hair is dark. If it is, then laser hair removal would be great for that. I love not having to shave under my arms anymore, and I don't have that underarm "shadow" from the dark hair roots showing since the roots died and fell out.

However, laser hair removal won't work on your face because that hair is blond colored. It only kills the roots on dark hair.

I guess, if I were you, that I would get it waxed. Perhaps present day electrolysis works better than it did 20 years ago when I tried it. It was a big waste of my money.

Btw - you don't have to give up using deoderant if you have laser hair removal done - you just don't put it on the morning of your appointment.
