I'm an older mom with frizzy hair; and wondering if anyone out there has used products that really work, and aren't expensive?

Also have you ever tried a straightener I know it's bad for the hair but it makes the hair lay flat and looks great I use one and i love the way my hair looks I have one with steam don't like the dry ones try it you'll love the results good luck I'm 45 and when I straightened my hair my neice said I look ten yrs younger that compliment alone had me hooked

i too have this problem and was shocked to find out that john frieda products esp. the frizz ease serums ( you only need a little bit) work really well. you can use this on wet hair and blow dry or air dry you can use a tiny amount on dry to smooth fly aways. it is reasonable too and last a long time. the john frieda weather works is also good.

I am a 52 yr old with thick curly unruly hair. I use bio silk by faruck or super skinny by paul mitchell. To embrace the curliness but control the frizzies, curls rock by bedhead is great.

L. ~ Unfortunately, I share your dilemma. I've tried Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz control shampoo. It helps somewhat unless it's a really humid day. It's worth a try. It's around $3 to $4. Hope it works for you.

John Freida Frizz Ease Products work great. I have curly hair that I straighten all the time, and it works great, they have products if you want your hair straight and products for curly hair too.

Purology products are awesome. Don't look at the expense on the purchase. Look at the expense as far as use.

I found that the purology will last for months and months because you use so little. I would suggest the purple color container.

Dove makes a pretty good anti frizz serum/cream. It's cheap and it works for me, I have frizzy, half wavy/half straight really thick hair. I bought it to go to Honduras and it kept my hair well under control. You put it on your hair while its wet and don't rinse.

I have always used Pureology...which is an amazing product, but it is SO pricey ($25/bottle). Recently I was at Target and they had a special on Tresseme, so I thought I would try it.....it is wonderful. Definately compareable to Pureology, and about 1/10 of the price! I love the moisturizing conditioner, but they have a ton of types to choose from! I have also used Pantene, and while most stylists say not to use it....it does work! Good Luck!
