Hair Product for Curly-haired 2 Year Old

My 2 year old daughter has adorable curly hair, but shortly after I fix it in the morning it gets messy and sometimes a little frizzy. Can anyone recommend a hair product to help keep her curls looking more defined? I have curly hair myself, so I know all the right adult hair products to use, but I am looking for one that is made to be safe for a young child's hair, leaves it feeling and looking natural, and is not too expensive. Also, where do you buy it? Thanks for your suggestions!

I just put in some conditioner for babies/little kids and leave it in instead of rinsing. It works really well.

I have 2 curly headed girls and I haven't found a product yet made for kids that works. The Hair salon uses Cheer Chic works great but, kinda expensive and you get it at salons or online. Treaseme came out with a flawless curl line and I love it. They have shampoo and conditioner detangler and a prep cream nothing is over 4 dollars and it works great ( Just a tip I always comb down starting at the top when i hit tangles I stop and work from the ends up in sections)

Try Carol's Daughter products. Sephora @ Stonebrair Mall in Frisco carries it i believe or Collin Creek Mall in Plano. My friend and I use Hair Milk.

I have also heard that Quidad is awesome but I have never tried it. When my curly haired dtr was that age, I bought www.circle-of-friends.com products. Now she is 7 and we use the Redken line...Smooth Down shampoo, conditioner & butter treatment. I also use their Fresh Curls leave in stuff. Good luck! I know it's high maintenance. When people comment on my dtr's hair "is it hard to fix?" I usually say something like "I only comb it when she it is wet....she gets to have the expensive hair products! It's high maintenance for sure." That's what I've found through the years. Otherwise it's dry, breaks off and doesn't look good....best of luck!

For my six year old we have always used Johnson & Johnson baby oil gel. The other brands are fine too. The gel gives the defining curl look and the oil keeps it from frizzing and give it that fresh simi-wet look. You can find this at Target, Walmart, drug stores and grocery stores in the baby section. (around the lotion and bathing items)

Best of luck to you.

Try L'Oreal leave in conditioning cream for curly hair. It comes in a small round green bottle. It's been a while since I've bought it, but it works magic. my 3yrold daughter even wakes up now with great curls from her nap.

If you don't want to go with Johnson's curly hair products try the Circle of Friends kids products I know you can get them at Cool Cuts or there is a line called Little Sprout you can get at Ulta -sort of expensive but made for kids.

We use and love several of the products from www.TheOriginalLittleSprout.com. A lot of their products are specifically for curly hair and all their products are for babies and up.

For my 3 yr old with spiral hair I use Treseme gel called curl boost or something like that. It is in a clear squeeze bottle with a black push close tip. Her hair dries soft and shiny in spirals.

There was a posting some months back that talked about curly hair and good hair products. My daughter has SUPER curly hair and I use Mixed Chicks shampoo, conditioner, and leave in conditioner. After looking at it I was a little leery but I bought it and I will not use anything else on it again. It is a little pricey but it has lasted for months and the only thing that I am close to having to buy more of is the leave-in conditioner. I bought it from http://www.mixedchicks.net/ it was the cheapest place and it was shipped out fast. I hope that this helps and there are a few things that are worth spending the money on and that is one of them to me.

I use the johnsons leave in detangler for my daughter. she has very curly hair and it works great..no frizzies. The detangling spray doesn't work as good...the kind that comes in a tube is best. you can buy it anywhere. I get mine at walmart

I use Redkin Spin Curl for my 4 year old daughter. It comes in a lotion/cream for after baths, and also in a spray for dry hair. It keeps the frizzies away and refines the curl. Redkin is sold in salons, but can also be found at Ulta and Beauty Secrets (beauty supply) in the mall.
