My son always did -- MY hair. He'd pull on my hair, wrap it around his hand until it was wound up to my scalp and pulling painfully, he'd put it in his mouth and he'd gather it like a paint brush and stick it in his ear. He'll be 9 in a couple of weeks and every once in a while, if we are cuddling, I catch him rubbing my hair between his fingers, even now.

Our son never did but my sister use to.
She use to suck her thumb and twirl her hair for a long time.

One of my twins always played with the front of her hair when she was falling asleep and the other one never did. She's 7 now and I still find her running her fingers through her hair when she's getting tucked in. :)

Yes, son would place his hand place his hand in my hair when he was ready to fall asleep. He is now 5 years old and he will still somtimes sit on my lap and place his hand in my hair when he is wanting to cuddle.

BTW, My daugther used to rub the collar of my t-shirt when she was a baby to sooth herself and fall asleep.
