I have a three year old daughter and ever since she was about 1 and a half i have'nt cut her hair due to the fact i wanted to start growing her hair.
About a month ago i have trimmed it as when i used to bath her, her hair would fall out in bunches so i though it was because she needed a trim.
however ever since i have trimmed her hair the problem persists, i have also giving her vitamins but it does'nt help.

What can I do next?

I would get it checked out by the doctor. Does she have any circular bald spots where the hair is falling out? That could be a condition called Alopecia and a doctor needs to be seen to help it out. Is her scalp showing at all in the areas of the hair loss. Normal hair loss daily is up to 100 hairs daily I believe (it's along time since I went to beauty school) so anything over that can be something else and should be seen by a doctor. Also, try not to pull it back in a tight ponytail that will also make things worse. Certain times of the year hair falls out more then other times, however that is usually the fall. Just to put your mind at ease get it checked out.

We all lose hair every day and especially when we wash it. Such could be the case. Does she have bald spots on her head? If not, it doesn't sound like a problem. If she does, then get her to a Dr. right away.

Although I have never noticed my daughters hair coming out in clumps, I am going through the same thing. She has bald spots all over her head. She has a condition called Alopicia. Its nothing real serious. The doctors told me, this is her body's way of dealing with stress. More than likely, your daughters hair will grow back. You can go to the doctors and they will give you meds that help the hair grow back faster. I use it once in a while on my daughter because these meds have steroids in them and I don't want to pump my daughters body full of steroids. Also, I am sure it bothers you, don't make it a big deal in front of her. You don't want to freak your daughter out or make it define who she is. My daughter is 6 and acts like its nothing. Hope this helps
