We are taking a mini-vacation at the Grapevine Great Wolf Lodge. We are spending a night at one of the suites that have a tent with bunk beds for kids. We will be there with our 2 boys -- 5 and 2. I am looking for feedback from people who have been there. How was your stay? What restaurants did you eat at? Are there any activities you would recommend for the kids? We don't plan to venture out of the resort.

My manager stayed over there just last weekend. He said the restaurants were good and the pool area was divided very well for the kids and there were a lot of activities. He did have some issues with the beds. They stayed in one of the logde rooms for his granddaughter, and although they were cute, the beds were very hard which made it uncomfortable for him. He said that for the price of the rooms (and they were expensive) that they should have had more comfortable beds, but the experience outside of the hotel room was very positive.

It took over half an hour of standing in line to get checked in on a Sunday. You can check in as early as something like noon or 1, even if you can't get in your room, and can start using the water park. What I didn't expect was that the day you leave, you can use the water park the entire day until it closes (even after you check out). It was great; have fun! Those were just the things I would have liked to know before I went.

My kids, 6 and 4, had a blast at the water park. My husband and I did have to split up since they wanted to do different things, but it was always easy to find each other. We ate at the buffet restaurant and though the food was good, it was pricey...$20 for adults and $7 for kids. The pub upstairs had typical bar food. Go see the bedtime show in the lobby at 8pm. The kids will enjoy it. And do take advantage of the 2nd day, after you check out, to go to the park. No need to pack towels, they provide them at the park.

I haven't stayed there myself, but my sister went there a couple of months ago with her husband and their 5-year-old daughter. She (my niece) had a blast! I don't really have specific things to recommend, but from the photos I saw and from what they told me, the whole place is family-oriented and kid-friendly. The water park is obviously the main attraction, and my niece loved it. The rooms are very cute too -my niece's bed was in what looked like a treehouse. My sister made a photo book after their stay, and my niece still looks at it all the time.
I think y'all will have a great time. We plan on going there once my son is a bit older. Have fun!
