The key is to sign up for the email specials. The $99 special is only for a very few rooms and it goes fast. Also, we have been 4 times and two nights is the max we can handle all the chlorine smell. Also, if you go for one night, they usually offer a bill under the door with a comment that you can stay a second night for $99 or so.

I don't know that I've ever seen a coupon for GWL. We go every year for New Year's Eve in Sandusky, OH, as well as a few scattered times here an there. The best thing I've found is to check out their website for the dates you want, find the web price, and then call the logde you plan to stay at. Make sure you call the lodge directly though, not the reservation line, even though you are essentially calling for that purpose. You want to get in touch with a general manager, or guest services manager. They have the most power to pull strings and have the most interest in getting you to stay at their lodge. If you've never been to one, tell them that. GMs love to hear that you've chosen their location for your first visit. Also, after you've agreed on a rate or package, if you have AAA, mention that and you'll save an additional 10%. Have fun! GWL is our favorite place to take the kids.

We do their "deals" as they come up, but the *best* deal we ever get is their homeschool month (in the fall, usually, although sometimes they'll repeat in the spring) + group deals (booking 10+ rooms). Wolfden for $99 Sun-Thurs. We have a lot of awayschool friends whose parents will pull them from school for a day to meet up with us... because in our are the WD is $300+ a night.
