I want have my boy's pictures taken in April or May. At the same time, I want to get our family picture taken. I would to do this outside somewhere. Are there any suggestions of some really neat places? When do the bluebonnets come and where is a great place for those? Any other suggestions of places with flowers or maybe water would be appreciated! Anywhere around the D/FW area would be great. Thanks!
A popular place is Flippin Park, in Highland Park. It is located at Versailles Lane and Loma Alto, south of Mockingbird. The park peaks in the spring with 1000's of pink and white azaleas. When we lived there, there was a bridal shoot just about every weekend, or two or three, and countless family photos. We even saw a marriage proposal in the gazebo once which overlooks the fountain and reflection pool.
Unfortunately, many of the bluebonnet and wildflower areas we had years ago have been replaced by the (sub)urban jungle. If no one has any good suggestions for flower spots, you should consider Stone Creek Park in Flower Mound (near Morriss & Forest Vista). If you go just east of the playground, and over the bridge, there's an area of the creek that's great for photo ops... Large bolders and shallow water, with mini 12" "water falls". Easy to navigate with little ones or expensive equipment. There are a lot of tall trees in the area with provide some cool lighting elements. I take my kids there to play a lot, and we often see families and professional photographers.

Fort Worth Botanical Gardens are gorgeous. My husband and I just had our pics taken there. It has both flowers and water. :)
A good place for Bluebonnets is near DFW. There's an empty field next to the Ford dealership in Grapevine it's on a frontage road off of 114. Then you don't have to worry about traffic. They're usually pretty prominent in early April. It all depends on the weather and the amount of rain we've gotten etc. A few other good places for outdoor photos are the Stock Yards, not really flowers & water but really cool places for good backgrounds. Bear Creek Park in Keller on Bear Creek Parkway near 377. And the Botanical Garden in Grapevine.
Flowers and water and more are found at the Dallas Arboretum. Plan to spend a lot of time there walking around, letting your son run and having a picnic! It's gorgeous!
We have lots of beautiful family snapshots of visits there and when we are there we always see at least one professional photographer taking portraits.
There are many beautiful and diverse choices at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens!

I love the Japanese Gardens there, and there are many more styles of gardens, gorgeous trees, and lovely nature scenes!
The Dallas Arboretum hands down. Dallas Blooms is about to start, and it is absolutely gorgeous (and runs through May). My pro photographer dad just did our family pics out there, and they turned out stunning! A local photographer that specializes out there is Amy Columbus, and she does Tiptoe through the Tulips. Discovery Gardens at Fair Park. You can take your pics and then go to the Science Museum and have a great day!
The corner of University (380) and Ector St. in Denton always has a field of Bluebonnets, when they pop up.
We go where Valerie recommended. Its really nice and last time I took my kids there there were a couple of professional photographers there too.
From Morriss take Forest Vista (in FM) and go east and then take the 2nd left (dont remember the name of the road) until the end. We just parked on the side of the road and there was a path to a stream, some cute little bridges, etc. We took pictures there for christmas, but I sure spring would be even nicer with more green and leaves on the trees!
we had pictures taken at the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens in July and it was GREAT! I think there may be a small fee, but I'm pretty sure it's not too much and it's on their website.

I just love Turtle Creek in Dallas...it's more lush with lots of green and huge trees, and paths with picturesque bridges over the creek. My husband and I had our engagement pictures taken there back in 2003.
