HI,

We just got here after being overseas for awhile. It's quite the adjustment for us but I am ready to get my hair done they way I want it and not they way other people want it!

I have naturally wavy hair so I would like someone who knows how to deal with that but my MOST important requirement is GREAT color~

We are in the Springfield area so if anyone has a suggestion it would be greatly appreciated!

OH....if there anyone out there who knows of a good nail/massage spa place that would be great too!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi, Thank you all for the great suggestions. I ended up going to JonDavid salon because of the multiple recommendations. I LOVE my hair! Although the cost of $230 is a shock! I am happy to have the hair I wanted and had a few years ago!
Thanks again!

Hi there, and welcome to the area! I fell in love with Jon David salon in Springfield, off Commerce Street. http://www.jondavidsalon.net/ They are a full service spa, but I've only had my hair done there so far. (I've done full color, highlights and brand new style.) I've never been happier.

Good luck!!

Statements Salon and Spa in Woodbridge (Lake Ridge area) - they are color specialist. I have "been seeing" (aka having my hair done) by the owner for years and years - I followed her from salon to salon - and she finally opened her own salon about 9-10 years ago - it is top notch and is more than just a "hair place". Here's the website:
www.statementssalonandspa.com

The owner's name is Nikki - but many of the stylists there are great - she puts them through her own training before allowing them to be on the floor. Statements has been highlighted in many hair and spa magazines as one of the top spas in the Wash. DC area.

It is a non-tipping salon - they pride themselves in their work and give the best service possible.

Good luck - I know finding someone can be hard - but everyone I have referred to them has been happy!

If you go in - tell them K. Bussenger referred you.

I am sure you are receiving a ton of responses but I actually found a gal I absoolutly love. I have naturally curly hair so again its a huge concern. If you like shoot me an email and I can send you some before and after pics. The gal I wentto was in Lorton at the new lorton station shopping center right off of the 95 & 163 exit. The salon is call Escape day spa and her name is Tina, if you go tell her I sent you. She did an awesome job on my cut, which no one has ever done, and the color is stupendous. I plan to go back because the first time we did subtle color but next time were going to make it "pop". I did red and blonde highlights and lowlights. I have gotten so many compliments onmy hair. Even after I had it done I made my husband take pics of me and my baby just so I could show off the hair. LOL
Email me at ____@____.com if your interested in seeing som pics.
Thanks

I love Positive Image in Springfield. I have seen the owner there (Donald) for years. I have very thick wavy hair and he knows what to do. I don't know specifics about hair color however they advertise themselves as experts. They are in the shopping center at Rolling and Old Keene Mill Rd. with Giant, CVS, Popeyes, a dollar store, and a cleaners.

Masters Touch Salon and Spa in Falls Church is fantastic! I lived in Springfield too and it was well worth the drive.

The owner, Kathy, I think, is great with color. They have a wonderful nail/waxing woman and the lady who does the massage is out of this world. She was a hairwasher and was so wonderful that the owner sent her to school to learn massage.
Sorry I can't remember names. I've been overseas myself for 3 years now and wish everyday that I could get a great haircut at my old place!

ps - they also sell great fashion jewelry and OPI polish.

I am very pleased with the Kenese Hair salon in the Springfield Mall. I go to Fares, who is the owner. ###-###-####. I don't get my hair colored but a lady I work with gets her hair colored by Fares and is very pleased. The salon does nails, but I haven't gotten mine done there.

I don't know of any fabulous nail places, I just usually get mine done at one of the places in the strip malls near the grocery stores near by. For a total splurge, I will go to Elizabeth Arden, but not for a routine manicure/pedicure.

For a facial, I go to K-Spa in Springfield. It isn't the most upscale in the world, but I like Poonam. ###-###-####. They do massages, but I have never gotten one. They don't do nails.

Hello!

I highly recommend JonDavid Salon in Springfield. I have been going to this salon for over 12 years and they are great with color and wavy/curly hair. I would recommend making an appointment with Zed or David (the owner). Let them know that S. referred you and they will take great care of you!!!!
